How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content

- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

I booked a bed in a 6-bed dormitory. The dormitory is large enough, so you do not feel packed at all. The bed is a bunk bed, with a fair enough good mattress. For this dorm (and the entire floor), you have access to 2 showers (shower + sink), 3 toilets (toilet + sink). All were clean. You also have access to a fully equipped kitchen, from 07:30am to 09:30pm. The common space is nice. The WiFi is good. Towel rental for 1eur. Parking lot space for 16eur per night. Breakfast buffet for 8eur. 250m away from Lidl supermarket. 500m away from Charlottenplatz tram stop. With regards to the staff, I was welcomed by Bastian, who is super nice and very friendly. I would definitely recommend this place for a short or a long stay.

Just rules are very strict for Example the kitchen … etc But everything was nice
The manager lady was so helpful when I come, something happened at the reception but she was here to solve the problem specially I was very tired but she was very helpful ( thank you Madame )

Lots of stairs with no lift. Had to move beds to access plugs. My food was binned. Cant use kitchen when they are making breaky. Toilet always a state.
Friendly staff. Good location for travel.

I had a great stay, the staff was very friendly and spoke English very well so it was easy to communicate. The cleaning is done everyday so it's refreshing, the bathrooms and toilets are always clean! The things I disliked (dislike is still a strong word) were the beds creaking, whether you are on the top bunk bed or the bottom it creaks everytime you move, also for some reason when I unlocked the door with my key the little alarm rang but I think it was a problem with my key, it wasn't that disturbing. I really recommend it if you are a solo traveller or with friends, even my roommates were very friendly !

The room became exceptionally hot despite the window being open and this was in March.
The room and bed was clean and the lockers were spacious. The kitchen and dining facilities were great and I never had to wait for the shower and toilet. Staff were really friendly and helpful.

The room is quite dark.
The location is pretty good, it is convenient for me to take the metro from the airport. It took me only few minutes walking. The shared bathroom is clean, and the water is hot enough for shower during winter time. The experience that i appreciate the most was the staff, because i arrived during midnight and the staff replied the email rapidly and well explained the use of digital key. Thanks so much for helping.

Great hostel close to the city center and also train station. Nice and clean room with shared bathroom. The staff was really nice, the also helped me to print 2 fotball tickets.

The property has two entrances. Outside reception ours customers should use main entrance door which is not proper to enter the building with a large suitcase. There is no room on the stairs to accommodate the wheels of a suitcase where meantime you have to open the door with a keycard push it strongly with both of your hands where I was holding the bedsheets that I’m given and my big suitcase. Then my delsey suitcase fell down the stairs and the handle got stuck . This gave me very hard time during the rest of my journey, where I had to travel 3 more cities in Germany. The only answer the property can give me was ‘oppps sorry!’. Booking should make sure that the properties apply are safe for the customers . Well this property is not. Kindly contact the property to investigate my case. They have the camera footage.

The room was bare and my bed was right by the door, but it’s an older building and it is what it is. My standard lock did not fit the opening of the locker: it required a very small lock.
A bit older but perfectly adequate and good value.

The bed was not that much comfortable. The hostel does not have an elevator so you need to carry your luggage.
The location was very good. there was a locker inside the room for each person but you should have your locker with you. The staff was very nice and he was very helpful.

The pillows were uncomfortably large, which might not suit everyone. Overall, a good experience with minor drawbacks.
I had a pleasant stay at Hostel Alex 30 in Stuttgart. The check-in process was fully digital, which was very convenient. Although I encountered an issue with the digital room key, the support team resolved it instantly via email, which I appreciated. The location is excellent, close to the tramway and easily accessible. However, the pillows were uncomfortably large, which might not suit everyone. Overall, a good experience with minor drawbacks.

Lady at the reception NOT friendly at all.This has nothing to do with the Hotel but at least put a sign for other guest to respect other people. Imagine a person playing musik at 12am or 5am.
