Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BelgiumWe stayed over to go to Lollapalooza (and see J-Hope). It was very convenient and close to the Olympiastadion / park. It was a bit further from the Airport and Berlin itself but that was expected and wasn’t the reason we booked this specific hotel. Staff was nice, rooms were clean and neat.

United KingdomI hate having to walk through clouds of cigarette smoke to enter the building. Whilst this appears to be the norm in Germany, it seemed particularly bad on the days we were there - perhaps due to the hotel being so close to the shopping centre - but it was so bad it made our clothes smell and the lobby smelt of cigarette smoke too which I really don’t like. I wish they would move designated smoking areas a little further from main entrances in such circumstances.
We were attending Lollapollooza so this was in an excellent location for that - just 3 stops from the Olympic Stadium on the S9. The S9 runs to Spandau from the airport via the main tourist spots such as Alexanderplatz - so again a good place to say though it takes about 40 mins to get to central Berlin and 1hr 20mins to get to the airport. The hotel is next door to a big shopping centre with lots of food outlets so easy to find something to eat. I would describe the rooms as functional and quiet. We didn’t eat at the property so cannot comment on food provision. The bar had a limited amount of drinks - no red wine when we asked. The staff were fine though when we asked for extra pillows (they only provide one very squishy and not very supportive pillow per guest) it came across that they were slightly annoyed to accommodate our request - but maybe the person had had a bad day.

New ZealandNothing really, as I stay in so many Ibis hotels, that this was one of the better ones!
Location of course, you tumble out the door into the metropole. Also only 1.5km from The Zitadelle which is worth a visit

Czech RepublicClassic accommodation in a hotel chain, the room is small but cozy and clean. The breakfast (17 euros per person) is rich and very good quality. I very much appreciate the air conditioning in the room. It is close to the U-bahn and S-banh with good access to the center.

FinlandThe street is very busy and really noisy all night, and you can hear it all in your room. AC not working properly, would not recommend during the hottest months. Breakfast was standard hotel breakfast that should have been included in the room price. If you are willing to pay 17e for breakfast, try nearby cafeterias instead.
Simple and clean easy-access hotel next to Spandau station through which is excellent transportation. Grocery stores, restaurant & café options, and Spandau old town nearby.

ArgentinaWhat i found to be totally bad was the air conditioning. I went during a week where the sun was really hard and the room was hot inside. THere was no AC because it was set up in HEATING MODE. Totally crazy and i could not sleep well for two nights because of the heat. I found that very ugly because they say (in booking) they have AC, and that is not totally true (they have it only in summer).
The hotel is an IBIS hotel, so you can find nice prices for a nice product (excelent product/price relationship).

Review for ibis Berlin Spandau Hotel I recently stayed at ibis Berlin Spandau and had a pleasant experience overall. The rooms are of standard size, just as shown in the pictures, though they may appear slightly larger online. Both the room and washroom were clean and well-maintained, meeting expectations for a comfortable stay. The check-in desk was efficient and welcoming, which made the arrival process smooth. The hotel’s location is a major plus—it’s adjacent to a shopping mall, offering plenty of shops and eateries. However, there is no direct access to the mall from the hotel, which might be inconvenient for some guests. Parking was convenient, as the mall parking lot is available for hotel guests. The cost is affordable at only €5 for 24 hours, but there’s no direct access from the parking lot to the hotel. Guests need to walk through the mall, which could be a minor hassle if carrying luggage. Overall, ibis Berlin Spandau is a great choice for travelers looking for a clean, conveniently located hotel with easy access to shopping and dining options. The lack of direct connections from the mall and parking are minor drawbacks but don’t significantly affect the overall experience.

United KingdomThe only down side was that our shower wasn’t as clean as it should have been. It would have been better to have had a clean shower that was obviously cleaned before our arrival. However, there were some hairs and fluff that was not from us.
The hotel staff were lovely and very helpful. The hotel was in great location with Spandau train station just across the street and a shopping centre next to it.
