How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewGood facilities and staff, great breakfast service, huge and clean room with bathroom inside.
The location is near to city center, but it’s in a hill. Also you can take the subway to arrive there. And the beds aren’t the best, but enough for a few nights.

Verified reviewThe location is amazing! There are many steps in Stuttgart, but within 20 minutes of walking you are right in the city center! It is a bit tiring to climb the stairs when you go back after sightseeing, but hey! Free work-out! The staff was super helpfull and the city skyline view from the bistro/breakfast hall is wonderfull!
The furniture was a little old fashioned and the matress a bit hard. But not by any means did that make my stay less wonderfull!

Verified reviewJust the service is great .
We did not like anything , the bathrooms are like an old hospital bathrooms . There is no AC or fans in the rooms . The room is very small . And the breakfast was poor . Its a good place for teenagers but sure not for families.
Thank you for your honest feedback! We’re really glad you appreciated our service – we’ll be sure to pass your kind words on to the team. You’ll find fresh, crusty bread and rolls, a variety of muesli, cornflakes, and yogurt, sweet spreads like jam, honey, and Nutella, a selection of cheese and cold cuts, fresh fruit, vegetables, and crisp salad. For vegan guests, we also offer hummus, spreads, and dips. Warm options are included too: eggs, sometimes sausages, and depending on the day, even pasta, rice, or pizza. Drinks include coffee, tea, a variety of juices, milk, and plant-based alternatives such as oat, soy, and rice milk. Verified reviewBreakfast only had sandwiches to make yourself, fruits and granola and drinks. I have expected more meet or eggs for example. I was not full after breakfast because there was not a large option of food to get full.
in the room was very hot at night, the height of the lower bed.
Thanks a lot for your feedback! Sorry to hear that you didn’t feel full after breakfast. Actually, we do offer quite a big variety: 6 kinds of bread rolls and 5 different loaves, 2 types of cold cuts, 2 kinds of salami, 3 different cheeses, 4 vegan spreads, 3 kinds of jam, plus Nutella and honey. On top of that, we’ve got 4 types of muesli with 6 toppings, several yoghurts, herb quark, fresh vegetables, 4 kinds of sliced fruit and another 4 kinds of whole fruit. At our warm food corner we also serve changing dishes – on the day you left there was pasta, a couscous pan and hard-boiled eggs. So it might be that you just didn’t catch everything – we’ll work on making the variety even more visible. About the heat: with the current temperatures, people are sweating pretty much everywhere. 😅 Hope you’ll come by again – next time you can try your way through everything and we’re sure you’ll leave breakfast totally full!

Verified reviewThe location was only a few stops from the Central Station by U15, offering a beautiful view from the hostel overlooking the city. The breakfast was included, which was nice - you could eat it on the balcony with a great view :) The receptionists were nice and friendly, and you could store your luggage in the storage room if you arrived early.
The light in the toilet did not work, and there were no mats inside or outside the bathroom. The plug points in some of the beds were not near, but none of these were a deal breaker for me, except for the lights.

Thank you so much for the great feedback! 😊 We're happy to hear you enjoyed the hostel and the location — the view over the city is definitely worth a few steps 😉. It's great to know you liked the breakfast and felt well taken care of by our team. Hope to see you again soon!

The location. Depending on what metro you use to arrive there you have to climb MANY stairs.

Verified reviewThis might be the best option for a stay in Stuttgart for this price. The fact that breakfast is included is a great advantage, and they offer a very good breakfast.
It's not difficult to walk to the city center, but I definitely recommend taking the tram to get back; you don't want to climb that hill. Although I didn't stay in a private single room, I ended up in a room with bunk beds. However, I've never slept in such an uncomfortable bed. I know this is a hostel, but if you're offering single occupancy, you should at least offer a room with a single bed. Sleeping in a bunk bed isn't a single room.
Hey, thanks a lot for your honest and detailed feedback! We're really glad to hear you enjoyed the breakfast – we put a lot of love into it, so that means a lot to us! 😊 And yep, walking to the city center is doable, but that hill on the way back... it definitely catches people off guard. Taking the Stadtbahn is 100% the smarter move – totally agree with you there! About the bed: We totally get where you're coming from. Bunk beds are standard in youth hostels – it's kind of part of the concept – but we know comfort matters. The good news is, we’re currently working on upgrading our mattresses to make sleeping a lot more comfortable in the future.

Verified reviewThe staff and the breakfast were amazing Lockers were so big (you need to take 1€ to lock it)
It was way too hot, and they had nothing to help with it, but otherwise, it's a great hostel
Hey, thanks so much for your feedback – we’re really happy to hear you enjoyed the staff and the breakfast! Glad the lockers were useful too – they’re nice and spacious. And just to clarify, the €1 is just a deposit to lock them, you get it back when you open the locker again. We totally get that it was too hot – unfortunately, there’s not always much we can do about the heat on really warm days, but we’re definitely looking into better solutions for the future.

Verified reviewVery central location and well connected by the U-Bahn if you don’t want to walk the hilly terrains of Stuttgart. The room was also clean and the bed was comfortable. Friendly staff and good breakfast.
Soundproofing could be better.
Hey, thanks so much for your feedback! Great to hear you liked the central location, the easy access to the Stadtbahn, and of course the breakfast – and we’re especially happy that you found your room comfortable and the bed cozy. 😊 Also awesome that our team made a good impression – that really motivates us! Your point about the noise is totally fair – the soundproofing isn’t perfect, especially when things get a bit lively. We’re looking into ways to make it better. Thanks again for sharing, and hopefully we’ll see you next time!
