we didnt eat there although that was the whole purpose of visiting. The main rtestaurant was closed , which we knew, but they booked us in the bistro. Then they said that would be shut as well.We wanted to cancel but booking.com said it would cost 120 euros.when we mentioned this to the hotel they said they would have cancelled for nothing so we blame booking.com for this.

Easy to reach and close to nice sites to visit in the area

Location next to busy road ( noise ) and less of a idyllic country location than the pictures make you belief

The room was not clean ,the air conditioning not working, the location was not good at the road and far from restaurants and anything else. The staff was great but that didn’t make our stay better.

Such a charming location. The hotel is just stunning and their staff was super lovely. Rooms are super big and very classic looking, which suits the environment and ambience. The food of the restaurants was fantastic also. We will be coming back for sure!

    Nothing really. All was fantastic!

We went there to celebrate a special occasion. They had a special surprise which was very nice.

We were given a room in the attic and unfortunately we were too tall for the minibar and therefore banging our heads. Room was fine, yet not as special as hoped.

Gorgeous old palatial manor house set in beautiful gardens. Authentic German decor. Breakfasts were a sumptuous array of everything to satisfy all tastes. The bistro was a lovely casual dining space in the evening and the staff were very friendly and helpful especially Praddy who went above and beyond to meet all our needs. Although the hotel is located beside the busy Rheinallee Straße there is an underpass at the end of the car park where you can gain access to the beautiful Rhine River and a cute little licenced cafe/restaurant that serves the best fish & chips. A bus stop immediately outside the hotel car park is very convenient as is the train station a few hundred metres away.

Nothing. A lift would be convenient but the staff are happy to carry your luggage to & from your room.

    - The room was great. Comfy bed, high-quality bed linen, amazing bathroom and great atmosphere of classic hotels - Personnel at check-in was polite and helpful - Location is great - it's quiet, there's a riverbank nearby and a huge promenade where you can take a nice evening walk. - Complimentary liquor is a very nice touch! - There are plenty of services provided by hotel - wake-up calls, organizing flower delivery, getting a haircut booked - can be handy if you are staying nearby for a wedding or an important work meeting. - Even though the windows are overlooking the terrace / restaurant where guests are talking and relaxing, you can barely hear them. - Breakfast is tasty - but it's, in my opinion, is kind of overpriced, especially given the quality of service.

    - Hotel restaurant experience: when we came in for some evening wine-and-dine, we were greeted properly, and asked if we want any aperitifs - which were then listed orally. Since we're not really well versed in all kinds of alcohol, we asked for the menu of what could be offered as one, and also offered a bottle of water. After getting the menu and making our choice, we sat there and waited as people kept coming in and got their orders asked and brought to them while we just sat there, waiting. Funny thing - two families came in with dogs after we got seated, and dogs got served some water and snacks before the waiters even thought about coming to us. One table had a team of five waiters swarming it, so it's not like there wasn't enough people. After around 20 minutes of waiting and trying to get the attention of the waiters, somebody finally came to us to take our order - but at this moment we were already not in the mood for anything, so we just paid our 10.95 EUR for a bottle of water and left. - Breakfast was a mixed bag - the quality of produce like meat, cheese and milk is great. However, navigating your way to water, juice and what the breakfast has to offer is confusing. You are to order something in addition to the buffet they have from the waiter, but it's absolutely not clear what they have in stock, and the waiter really goes over the options really quick and skips some of them. I think having a printed out menu would help. Also, after ordering an omelette and two cups of coffee, we sat there for another 25 minutes until a waiter came to us and asked if he can help with something - turns out they simply forgot about our order. Afterwards, the food was brought really quick when we had to re-order it, but seems like there's a recurring pattern with restaurant staff.

Stylish, good quality old style hotel. Renowned as one of the largest wine cellars in Germany. Visited by serious wine connoisseurs. Not cheap, but exceptional.

Charges for simple extras like a few pieces of bread and olives was extortionate.

Outstanding staff - good, polite and helpful (front desk was English speaking) The room was beautiful! It was clean, heated bathroom floors, loved the shower and bathtub, comfortable bed. The hotel breakfast was great value for money. Excellent service (server was English speaking) and food variety was good. Hotel is located across the street from the Rhein River (2-3 min walk). Two restaurants located across the street from the hotel - RheinSchänke - MM Rheinterrassen GmbH & Co KG and another small outdoor restaurant overlooking the Rhein.

The atmosphere was good and so was the room. But there was a smell in the first floor. Staff was helpful, less options for chicken/veg eaters for dinner.

We absolutely loved our stay, especially the breakfast and proximity to the Rhine River as well as all the wineries.

Not much local shopping within walking distance, but we were able to drive a short distance to Eltville.

The welcome drink in the room was a nice touch The rooms were very nice (although room 12 has no internet signal. For this reason we moved to room 15) The hotel felt very homely and the food in the restaurant was also very good with a massive wine list

No WiFi signal in room 12 (although it was a lovely room with dual aspect and a cosy seating area).
