How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

There is a lot of work being done on the property, it didn’t seem finished. The key card stopped working each day so you had to keep getting it reset. There’s just one USB socket per bed and the smallest shelf in the world!

Verified reviewFrom other reviews it seems this building has been under renovation for some time. The exterior is not very noticeable, so it’s quite easy to miss when arriving for the first time—whether coming from Munich Central Station or the tram stop (Holzapfelstraße). That said, the location is very convenient. The common area is not large but still bright enough. I did not try breakfast or dinner, so I cannot comment on the food.
It was quite noisy at night. Like many other accommodations, this property does not have air conditioning. The fan speed can be adjusted, but the room still felt stuffy. Opening the window helped with ventilation and comfort, but outside noise (trams, ambulances, people shouting late at night) was very disruptive to sleep. The sound insulation was also weak—you can clearly hear noise from the neighboring rooms and hallway. Perhaps due to the summer season, the reception staff seemed relatively young. While they could handle most tasks, their attitude felt a bit casual and unprofessional.

When we checked in and got the keys to our room they gave us the keys for a room that hadn’t been cleaned yet. We were then given another key for a different room which was half the size of the room we had paid for. We eventually got moved to a clean and properly sized room, just shouldn’t have taken 3 tries. Our shower drain was also clogged and there were trades right outside of our windows.

Verified reviewThe check-in and check-out process was super quick and easy. I had done the online check-in earlier (sending ID and answering a few questions), so it made it quicker when we got there. The room had 6 beds, each with USB entries and lights. There was one toilet and one shower, a table with a couple of stools and a locker per person. You need to bring your own padlock. The bed was comfortable and everything was very clean. The staff were very helpful and kind. There isn't a restaurant on site, only a bar, but you can use the communal area/tables even without buying something from them.
The beds could have a curtain of some kind, for more privacy and to block some light and noises when other people in the room arrive or departure while others are still sleeping.

Verified reviewI loved this hostel for the amount of cozy space it had downstairs, the location and the friendly staff. It is about 15 min walk from Munich Hbf and only about 30 mins into town/city centre.
Firstly it was difficult to find due to building works and there were no signs outside to direct. The lack of air con in the shared bedrooms made it pretty impossible to catch any sleep. We couldn’t open the windows because this affects the smoke alarm system and warns you could get fined €250, so we were stuck with the heat. In 33 degree weather this was really unbearable, but if you ask reception they will let you borrow a fan - which is great if you can actually get to the plug. The plug socket by the bed is so hidden, I didn’t even realise there was one until somebody in my dorm informed me. When I tried to use it the second night, the bed was screwed into the wall so close to the plug, it wouldn’t even fit in the socket. The staff were very helpful however and let me change beds to a plug that was accessible. I am lucky that this bed was available, or I would have had another unbearable nights sleep in the heat. Maybe my experience in winter would have been different, but during summer months I’d say give this place a miss!!

Noisy, poor sound insulation regarding both outside noise and noise from inside. This place needs to decide whether it is a hostel for young people to party, and have access to appropriate kitchen facilities, or a family hotel. At the moment it is trying to be both and achieving neither.

We didn’t like that the air conditioning that we were told came with the room didn’t work. This forced us to open the windows, which I normally wouldn’t be opposed to since it was an okay temperature to do so, but the noise was unbearable. Not one of us slept well for 2 nights because the options were sweat from heat having less noise or listen to the very loud party crowd and business handlings. We heard it all every hour of what goes on on that street. It was non stop noise! The cleanliness was also disappointing. The shower room smelled like a wet dog. The floors were dirty and there were spiderwebs in the corners. If we wouldn’t have been at the end of our trip and just ready to be done, we likely would have tried to find different accommodations. That said, the stay was not enjoyable. We just put up with it and left. We did let the front desk know as we were leaving and he basically already knew all things like that were issues and just said yeah sorry about that.
