Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BulgariaThe rooms will need renovation soon.
We could park our car in front of the hotel for 11 euro per day (ticket machine on the sidewalk), which was OK. The staff was friendly, but I wouldn't say they were paying a lot of attention to us. The rooms are very big, and the bathrooms are unnecessaray big. The hotel is ca. 7 minutes walk from the entrance of the main train station and Koennigsstrasse.

United StatesThe breakfast was virtually non-existent, and when we saw how skimpy it was, we chose not to pay 15 euros for essentially a platter with little on it. The room has no air conditioning, and it was hot. The garbage bins were directly under the bathroom window and stunk, especially when it was being dumped into trucks but even after that, and we were on the second floor. The rooms need updating. We would not stay there again, but it is in a good location not too far from the train station so maybe it's better under new management.. And the young man who greeted us at the front desk was wonderful and as helpful as he could be. We hope the owners keep him.
The location is good. The price is right, but ownership was literally changing hands the day we arrived, so no idea if the review will be helpful.

TurkeyThe fact that the places were covered with dirt was bad from a hygiene standpoint, and there was a slight smell of feet. The absence of a refrigerator was very disappointing. The wardrobe had no charm at all.

Very close to Stuttgart central train station. Easy to get to despite the ongoing construction work at the station. Excellent price and lovely staff. Has a lift, so easy getting luggage upstairs.

Brazilthe bathroom was leaking water, but I managed how to avoid the floor to the very wet.
The location is very good for those arriving by train. The front desk person tried to be kind and gave me a room key around 11am, but when I got to the room there was a couple there. So I got another key and everything went well. I only stayed for two nights, so I didn't have much time in this hotel.

Great location, friendly staff, room was everything we needed - just a place to sleep at night while spending time around the city. Very close to the train station and felt safe when we walked back at night. The room felt clean enough.

GreeceAt least for my case and my room given, I think it could have more lights in it and small issues like water dripping from the sink or the shower could be easily resolved since they are typical.
Clean and spacious room with good double bed. Full amenities (towels, linen etc.) provided with ensuite WC and shower. Within the room are small fridge. Within easy walking distance for central and famous sights of the city. Close to main train station (5 mins walking distance) and in a quite area of the city (university and hospital grounds nearby). Variety of cafes, mini-shops/food stores and restaurants close by around the train station. There is food supplied, a vending machine for small things and a bar within the premises. Green policy applied on linen use and collection (in my case was a daily one). Generally good value for money among other options, a quality choice although near the central area of the city! The management team is kind and prompt to reply either through through e-means or by phone, so feel free to ask anything but be advised on the customer service hours when in person.

Hungary- Upon arrival, there was a nylon trash sack on the table with a used tissue in it. - The one guy at the reception (the one who welcomed me) was too easy-going and was dressed casually. (- The neighbour was loud, but this could happen in almost any hotel.)
- The value for money was okay considering there were more expensive hotels.
