Some people will find the decor too old fashioned but for me it’s cozy and comfortable. The visitors are mostly adults who come to enjoy hiking and biking trails so very few if any noisy kids running around but it would be even better if it were an adults only space

I’ve stayed here several times and it’s always a delight. Even when fully booked it feels relaxed and peaceful. Beautiful hiking trailheads are within walking distance. The pool and sauna facilities are surrounded by a mostly unused terrace. The breakfast is excellent and the staff are very responsive

Beautiful decor and location. Secure motorcycle parking in courtyard. Best of all was the staff though. Lady in reception made my day every day with her joyful approach to anything. Will visit again just for this reason and with her reoccurring statement of: “Ich lauf nicht weg” we hope to see her again.

all was perfect for our taste

a nice castle look a like hotel on top of the hill in Daun. The beautiful clean, spacious room and bath room, the very comfortable beds, the beautiful furniture and good tea/coffee facilities, all was top. A delicious breakfast!

I’d have marked higher, other than, on reporting an ongoing argument in adjacent room, where woman was yelling (unsuccessfully) at bloke to get out , the manager said they were not going to do anything, as dangerous to get involved in a ‘domestic’ (sic). You need to be able to walk uphill if you want to go out without car. Bring your own pillow!

Excellent buffet breakfast -so much choice. Great pool, open early till late-though I never got up early enough for naked swimming. Good location for day trips to surrounding cities.

Beautiful old building, just a little over 300 years old. Huge room decorated with beautiful old and traditional furniture, although a bit outdated. Very quiet, good mattress and excellent sleeping conditions. Unbelievable water pressure in the shower, to the point I thought it’s worth pointing it out. Free parking and great breakfast with lots of choices. Very friendly staff, especially the lady at the reception. Just stayed for a night and didn’t had the time to check out the pool, which as we were told is open till 23:00. We needed to stay a little longer and check out at 12:00 instead of 11:00 because of an important video call, and we were immediately given the permission to do so. Great stay.

A little run down in places, car parked out front which doesn’t look like it has moved for months.

Clean hotel with lovely breakfast. Old style hotel as how it may have been lived in centuries ago. Lovely pool and sauna (didn’t use the steam room) plenty of space in the room, lovely bathroom. Staff were friendly.

The heated pool is fantastic. It’s a bit small for laps but it’s beautiful! The hotel is incredible relaxed and comfortable, with a very civilized checkout time of 11am and an excellent breakfast complete with plenty of fresh fruit is also available until 11am. Staff are friendly and responsive. Good restaurants are a short walk away and the surroundings are gorgeous.

The only disadvantage: You can't take it with you.

The Schlosshotel is located on top of a hill overlooking the lovely town and surrounding. A nice patina from the 1950s-60s; next time I shouldn't arrive on a 21st century motorbike but rather take the Mercedes 300D (W 189 series). A very friendly owner and an equally friendly staff at the reception. Excellent breakfast.

The Eiffel region is for nature lovers and ones who love to walk, trek or cycle. Vulkaneifel is geologically interesting. Aside from these positives there is little else to do.

Classic interesting old mansion furnished with antique and old furniture, paintings and bits and pieces. Some were not real but looked the part. Pleasant staff and good hospitality.
