Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. The room was a bit dated but certainly doable. The gym doesn’t deserve to be called a gym. A proper workout is not possible.
Cooperating staff, spacious hotel, small but nice swimming pool, within walking distance from city centre with good restaurants. Breakfast was above average. Dinning facility is not great but thanks to the sunny weather we could sit outside.

Great breakfast, nice to have the swimming pool, short walk into lovely picturesque busy town with cafes and bars, plenty of nearby cycle routes, easy parking, friendly staff and restaurant was nice and lively. Was a bit concerned about the location at first as it is opposite a DIY store but it didn't matter at all, the hotel was lovely and just a 10 min walk away over the river was the town. A great stay.

Spacious rooms. Quiet hotel. Lovely location - 5 mins walk from the train station and into the town. The swimming pool was great. The breakfast buffet was good - it had a good range of foods to choose from. All the staff were friendly. We travelled with our 3 year old - she had a separate bed and there was also a little playground next to the hotel.

I can't think of any negatives.
Excellent location. All the staff were exceptionally polite and helpful. Rooms were lovely, and the kids thoroughly enjoyed the pool. The restaurant ambience was nice, and the breakfast choices and quality were great! There are many spacious parking spots in the hotel, and they have an electric charging facility as well for the cars.

I can’t think of anything.
Property was very nice and clean. Great location. Staff was very friendly. Beds were comfortable. I enjoyed the little deck we had for morning coffee or relaxing in the evening. Breakfast choices were good.

Location is a bit odd....a bit like on an industrial estate but a very short walk into the lovely old town.
Lovely hotel and nice staff. Fantastic welcome from the maintenance man who really took time for us. Great breakfast and lovely comfortable room.

The only small issue we had was that the beer was served a bit warm at first, but thankfully, the great waiter quickly sorted it out and we ended up with a perfectly chilled one. Excellent service made all the difference!
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the breakfast selection was excellent, with a wide variety of fresh options each morning. The hotel also has a great location for discovering the Black Forest, making it a perfect base for day trips and exploring the region.

Possibly a coffee machine in the reception area or in the room would have made our stay even better.
Very nice hotel situated within a short walking distance from the town. We had a Comfort double room which had air-conditioning which was quiet and very effective. No sound heard from adjacent rooms or nearby road. Two pillows provided per person which was useful. Meal in the restaurant was also good. Good carpark next to the hotel.

The hotel is a perfect wellness retreat in Gengenbach, given the room rates and the location. A Konus card is given at check-in so that you can visit almost anywhere in the black forest using public transport. There are saunas including a Finnish sauna and a steam room and a swimming pool. The breakfast is very good. The bedrooms are spacious with comfortable bed. The staff were very helpful.

Dogs are not allowed into the restaurant for breakfast, but breakfast can be taken in the bar area next door with your dog.
Very large room, good location only 10 minutes walk to the old town. Great facilities and a fantastic breakfast selection. Onsite parking and dog friendly

The room I was given at check in did not match the details from the one I booked. (This was resolved to a degree.) The heat seems to be turned down at night with no warning. It was below freezing outside. (The staff isn't there at night, and they couldn't do anything anyway). Would have been nice to have an option for when the hotel restaurant is closed on Sunday evening (cold lunch box?). The internet wasn't consistent (shut off for both devices early the morning of check out). Truly terrible pillows (as usual here).
Beautiful lobby, decent breakfast, walkable from downtown Gengenbach. Appreciated the front desk staff: their kindness and recommendations. Super comfy bed.
