Small room, where everything has seen better times. Very dark as there is no central lighting in the room. The reception is NOT 24/7 and closes quite early: the hotel forgot to send me a welcome email, which describes the self check-in procedure, so on arrival I had to stay outside for half an hour, trying to get through to someone, whose number was provided on the hotel’s door to get the code from the key vending machine (No one was picking up the phone!). After I finally managed to get through, the person on the other side of the phone was quite rude, gave me the code number and hanged down the phone immediately. Also I was not informed about eligibility for BodenSee card, which was supposed to be issued automatically to the guests of the eligible hotels (this one included). The breakfast was not bad, but the selection was quite poor.

Perfect location in the very heart of the city center literally 200m from Zeppelin museum and the harbour.

After the second night, we requested the housekeeper to provide tissues , water and change the blankets but she refused and complained to the receptionist allegations that we ordered her. The receptionist ask us not to request anything from the housekeeper, otherwise he will call the police if we ask her again. Despite our stay was four nights, the room was cleaned one time. Blankets and towels were not changed and no tissues was provided .

The lack of a lift. My wife is in her sixties. Climbing stairs is increasingly difficult for her.

Having a bathtub and separate beds. This was for my wife and a friend of hers. Having a bathtub (not just a shower) is a big deal to my wife.

Some mornings had lots of street noise from rubbish trucks and setting up the market. The shower over the bath was a bit old and the water temperature varied quite a bit.

The hotel location was close to the water front in the heart of the old town. Breakfast was excellent. Staff were friendly. The room 378 was in the annex building behind the main block and was a huge corner room. The room was clean , the bed was comfortable. The hotel doesn’t have AC but a fan was provided and using the external shade keeps the temperature down.

It took almost 1h for the staff to do the check-in for only 3 rooms... Even tough they answered they have a place for safe bycicle storage, it means for them that you can leave your bikes out at the open street, simply locked to a stand... Obviously this was not acceptable for us, so we took the eBikes with us to the rooms.

Noting all was fine other than the lack of any view.

Lake Constance is beautiful but pictures suggested there was indeed a view of it, which there isn't. This is situated in one of the pedestrian main streets about 2 hunder metres back. Still nice, but its the lake view you really want.

location. close to everything that you need to see. you can take the ships by walking a mx of 1 min. restaurants, bakeries, museums, viewpoints, everything is in close proximity. Also u get a card when u check in, and u can travel with this card anywhere free of cost using ships, bus, bahn.(To places located along the coast of Bodensee)

It didn't have an elevator. We were one the fist floor which wasn't bad, but our friends had to haul very heavy suitcases up to the second floor.

Breakfast was good, staff was very nice and helpful, location was perfect. Bed was fine, shower could have been a little better/stronger. Was quiet for the most part.

When we booked the hotel it was called Select Hotel Friedrichschafen - we spent some time trying to locate the hotel and as a last resort we called in to Hotel Garner which was near the location - we were told that the Select Hotel had changed names the week before our arrival to Hotel Garner - it would have been helpful to have been notified of the name change prior to our arrival.

Helpful and friendly staff. Close to all attractions. Excellent breakfast. Clean spacious room.
