BelgiumThere was nothing in the house to drink or eat (despite the welcome that said I could take what was in the fridge). only some gum bears. This was the first time I used an AirBNB. I normally stay in hotels. For this reason I thought getting into the appartement (finding out what I needed to do despite the instructions) was a hassle compared to a hotel reception (obviously), but the owner did patiently help me through and stayed with me on the phone until I made it into the apartment.
good location. clean and all I needed for the trip at an affordable price. I was going to the Messe in Dusseldorf for an exhibition and the prices in Dusseldorf were ridiculously high. This was a very good alternative. My car was also in a safe place in the garage. Although I was on my own as a woman I did not feel unsafe in the area

GermanyIt was impossible for us to use extraordinary complex check-in with multiple codes ( internet connection is needed and anyway required portal does not open quickly). We spent around one hour of trying + calling to remote receptionist. Might be not a problem if you have time buffer for check-in and be ready to make calls and use internet. Water from bathroom can go under the door to the room, guests have to be ready to clean it all or hold the shower in hands while showering. Looks nice and clean, but you need hours to fix issues.
Looks like on photos, clean and in walking distance from Borussia Park and SparkassenPark.

United StatesIt was FREEZING the whole time even when we had the heaters on full blast. I don't even know where the heat came from, we couldn't feel it. The bathroom setup was atrocious. Who leaves out bathroom doors? I literally lay on the bed next to my partner taking a poop because it was unavoidable. Horrible experience. There wasn't even hand soap for us. The entire place was so bare bones we didn't feel welcome. Won't stay again.
It was a decent sized apartment and a decent location for our needs. Obviously very new. The bonus was the proximity to the dog park. The communication was pretty good but felt quite impersonal.

United KingdomExtremely frustrating as there isn’t a reception. Very difficult to receive your fob, nobody on site and none of the visitors could get hold of the staff. It was only by chance that a staff member was walking past. Plus, as it isn’t a key but an electronic fob, at some point in the evening they stopped working and nobody could get into the building. Luckily, as we were ground floor and hadn’t locked our patio door, we could enter and then unlock the front door for other couples. Poor organisation and really requires onsite presence and normal keys. Not knowing how to get your access when you arrive and just having a note saying to WhatsApp is not acceptable.
