Wonderful Lake down there

Personal space on the beach. Free boats. Excellent quality of water. Great view. Calm. Nice breakfast. There are a lot of places to explore. Very nice village. Tasty food.

A quality of beds and sheets can be improved (not comfortable to sleep). The extra bed in the family's room is a big compromise.

Location was nice.

Hotel was dirty, no staff around, lights didn't work in my room, Internet didn't work, no signal in room. Room was tiny, kept opening toilet door into pillow as it was so close to my bedside.

I liked the location and the breakfast. Unfortunately we stayed there during rainy days, so we didn’t enjoy the boats for free, but definitely is a plus during the summertime. :)

I didn’t like that the walls are so thin that you can hear the noise from the outside.

Schermützelsee is nice. Hotel provides some old boats you can take out on the water.

The facilities are old, as many other reviews state. Our small room (~7sqm total?) had a lake-facing terrace, but the air of the room became thick and humid after one night. Opening the doors to let in fresh air also inevitably let in all number of mosquitoes and flies. The bathroom was slightly larger than that of an airplane's, with a narrow shower cabin tacked on. It was impossible to use the sink without splashing water on the floor, and because of its size, the floor remained perpetually wet. Our booking experience was quite unpleasant. Because we asked about free cancellation a few hours after the deadline, the hotel cancelled our reservation, despite Booking.com's assurance that our reservation remained valid (after all, asking if a cancellation is possible is not the same thing as cancelling it. I believe they misunderstood the email from Booking.com which appeared to be in English). When we showed up at the hotel, they informed us they had no reservation under our name but luckily still had a room available. We asked the next morning if the replacement room had been booked for one or two nights, the receptionist told us one, but charged us for two nights when we checked out. Upon asking the management for a refund they insisted they had the right to charge us for the two nights because that was the original reservation, and even forwarded us an email from Booking.com showing that our reservation had indeed been in their systems, despite having told us we had no reservation the very day before.

Rooms are dated but compensated by location of hotel and staff.

Location, availability of boats and bicycles. Nice beach club arrangement.

Rooms were worn out, particularly the bathrooms. Mattressses old and not comfortable. No kettle. No fridge.

Location and miraculous view on a lake. Private pier and very good breakfast.

The room was not properly cleaned. It was quite hard to get to a room with bikes. The main entrance was very narrow and steep, with garbage blocking the way.

total chaos at arrival, room not ready, staff was kind enough to set up an alternative which was helping a bit. however the room was not in a good shape…

the dinner. i had an offer of dinner for 19,9€ from my booking but the waiters didn’t know about it and it was in the end not possible to get it: I paid 35€

Small room. Description says that single room has balcony but is not true. Breakfast is too late.
