The location is great, the interior design very tasty, the spa is great, especially the outdoors pool, and breakfast is great.

The beds didn’t meet the standards of the rest: mattress too soft, horrible pillow. Not a restful sleep. Your staff is very nice, but if they speak neither German nor English it’s difficult. The menu of the restaurant is too restricted. There should be more choice and also some less pricey offers. The system with the spa bag is nice, but it’s your own system and different from other spas. There should still be towels at proposal downstairs at the spa -or at least someone you can ask about it. We didn’t get a new bag (cleaning staff came when we were in the room so we told them no need -no further discussion possible since no German or English -but they didn’t give a new bag and we didn’t know), and there was nobody in the spa area we could ask about towels …

The room was large. The breakfast was excellent with the best bacon I've seen in a long while. The large mineral "samples" on display were impressive. Our server when we ate in the evening was very helpful with tips of where to go for a hike.

The lift did not work, so we had to carry our luggage up and down to/from the third floor and the staff did not believe me until another guest came up the stairs carrying their luggage and also complained. The room itself was under the roof so we had no view unless we stood up at the velux style roof windows. Being under the roof meant that it was also quite warm in summer and the blinds were not particulaly effective keeping daylight out. The bar area is nicely done but getting served seemed to be "difficult." The evening meal was expensive and with just a choice of three main dishes, a bit restrictive, especially for the Vegetarian option. One of us wanted the beef medium rare and I wanted it rare, when they came, both were medium to well-done.

Huge room, great heated swimming pool, super bar snacks and an enormous slab of Black Forest Gateau :0) whats not to like. I used the hotel as a pit stop for my road trip and brought a gravel bike (road bike with big tires) I managed a few hours of cycling in the local Forest in the most beautiful country side you could wish for, traffic free and scenic. Breakfast was excellent and the staff smiling and helpful.

    Nothing to report.

Excellent location, very nice spa. Great breakfast! The staff is very friendly.

The standard pillows in the room are too flat and not very comfortable.

We had a perfect stay for 3 nights, the hotel staff was very friendly and the breakfast was amazing. They have a nice spa and we enjoyed the use of e-Bikes provided for some additional cost at the hotel. The rooms we very nice and clean. The restaurant was also very good and we had dinner there every night.

    Nothing.

It's a very good hotel, located directly in the black forest but still being a walking distance from the town. The design and the concept of the hotel are excellent. The breakfast is very good with many options. We especially liked the Bavarian white sausages (weisswurst) with sweet mustard and pretzel. There are many great hiking options in the area, also starting directly from the hotel. The hotel has a great spa area and a swimming pool. Despite being not super cheap, the hotel fulfilled our expectations to almost 100 %.

The one disadvantage was a lack of air conditioner in the room. Although we stayed in early June and the weather outside was sunny, pleasant and not too warm, the black walls of the hotel absorbed during the day a lot of sunlight and the rooms were very hot during the night. The flies and mosquitos and the lack of the nets prevented us from leaving the windows open. It was very difficult to sleep at night in the overheated room. In the hotels of that caliber and for the price paid, air conditioner is a must for the comfort sleep of the guests. I can't imagine what is it like to stay in the hotel during the really hot months (July & August).
