It would have been great to eat at the hotel, but as it was on a Monday the restaurant was closed. Would have been nice to get that information when booking.

Staying in a historic landmark has downsides: no elevator, no A/C (but a fairly efficient fan was available), very weak and inconsistent WiFi.

Beautiful historic property with a peaceful garden for taking coffee and pastries, lunch, or dinner. Finding parking was surprisingly easy to find at the height of the season. Beds were comfortable, bathroom fully up-to-date.

The room was quiet (towards the back of the building) but overlooking the outdoor dining area. Could possibly get noisy when this area is open (it was not in October). Room was somewhat dark (actually not really a problem). Parking is on the street (if available) and costs 5 euro/day for a permit from the reception. Restaurant is somewhat pricey.

Large, quiet (see note in "What didn't you like?" below) bedroom with sitting area, refrigerator (w. minibar) and safe. Very large bathroom with walk-in shower. Popular in-house restaurant for breakfast (18 euro and not included in room price), lunch and dinner. Excellent location - within easy walking distance to center, market square and Schwerin castle. my particular room had only very few steps and was, therefore, easily accessible.

There was no lift and we were on the top floor - 5 flights of steep stairs with heavy luggage was not fun.

The price/size of the red wine from the mini-bar didn’t match the price list and if I hadn’t had the empty wine bottle as proof, I would have been overcharged (as the bill showed) but this was sorted by reception when I paid the bill.

Really great location, literally a stone’s throw from the old town centre and the Christmas Markets. Very large apartment with two bedrooms, a lounge, foyer and bathroom. Well equipped, warm and comfortable. The suite was accessed from the street just round the corner but in the same traditional building. This offered private access in a quiet location.

The hotel is ideally located close to the centre of Schwerin, 5 min. from the central lake and 5 min. to the castle. In an old traditional building the hotel comes with a cozy atmosphere.

parking. it says that they have free parking which appears to be a very limited availability, so we had to park for 10€ 10 minutes away from the hotel. breakfast. total disaster - limited choice of food, disgusting filter coffee for 17€ per person. please choose another place for breakfast

Poor service. My request for a sheet in lieu of a duvet was ignored. So I had to remake the bed. There's never anyone at the desk when you check in, check out, or need something. You must wait for one of the restaurants servers to take a break. There's no kettle to boil hot water in the room for tea or coffee. The breakfast buffet had no fresh fruit other than sliced watermelon. No bananas, oranges, apples, grapes, or berries. There was no toaster for warming or toasting bread.. The coffee was not up to good European standards. It was watered down and lacked flavor. All the furnishings and wall finishes in the room and throughout the building were various shades of brown. It was very somber.

The location and the large size of the room. Very spacious, with a comfortable sofa and coffee table in addition to a desk and chair and plenty of room to spread out. And a very large bathroom also.

Good location in the old town. Short walking distance from the main Schwerin railway station and the castle. The two bedrooms suite is spacious and comfortable. The dinner we had on our first night at the hotel restaurant was tasty and with good services.

Parking is a joke! Off site (not near hotel) a pass to put in your window and off you go looking for a parking spot. A hearty “good luck” from the staff doesn’t give much confidence. After 30 minutes of driving we decided not to stay. Still charged me, even though we didn’t use the room. After lugging our luggage down 3 flights of stairs the said “there’s a spot close by”. Too late - frustration had already set in. I’m disputing the charge.

That we didn't get to spend more time here

Incredible old building. You could feel the historic vibes. Room was HUGE with lots of space for lounging. It had an incredible tub and we had an amazing bubble bath. The mini bar was very affordable so we helped ourselves to it. The staff were welcoming and walked us up to our room to be let in. The keys were a little tricky but thats what you get with an old building and the staff helped me when I was having an issue. I wish we had gotten to stay here for more than one night but I was on tour so thats the life. Highly reccomended!!

The shower temp had to be regulated from outside the shower- that would be the only „didn’t like“ I can think of. Everything else was perfect.

Great location. Beautiful old building. Suite in great condition- perfect when traveling with kids.
