This apartment is huge: living room with vast TV and wood-fired stove (which we didn't need, heating works fine), dining room with table for 10, full kitchen, two bedrooms (one with 2 beds, one with three), an extra cot and a big comfortable living room sofascape that could sleep 2 easily, and a large bathroom with a big, deep tub, decent-sized shower and two sinks as well as the toilet. There is free off-street parking for one car only fifteen steps from the entrance door. The hosts are lovely -- my husband and I speak German so not sure how good their English is, but I'm convinced it would be fine for English speakers. The basic room cost is very reasonable even for 2 people, negligible if you had a larger group. It's a short walk into the pedestrian zone to the historical buildings and shopping, and a short drive to local attractions including the Tripsdrill amusement and wildlife parks. I signed up for the breakfast delivery each morning at 20 Euros per person and was a bit concerned about the price -- but it was worth every Euro-cent. What a breakfast! Seldom have I had a better one. A three-tiered stand with butter, cheeses, sliced meats, fruit (kiwis, lychees, grapes, clementines, melon...). Orange juice. Milk. Yogurts. Muesli. 2 soft-boiled eggs per person. A bread basket full of delicious rolls and pretzels, and even those typical German thin slices of chocolate you eat on your bread, in both dark and milk varieties! Cake or pastry. A cappuccino each and, 10 minutes later, another cappuccino each, delivered right to our front door. Breakfast arrived at the time set by us on our first day. The hosts, Mr. and Mrs. Wilhelm, are great, and there is a lot of information on local attractions (mostly in German) available right in the apartment. It was a memorably good stay.

The only thing I didn't like about this apartment was the steep and narrow flight of stairs (only one, though) that you have to negotiate to reach it. We didn't have a lot of luggage and though we are in our sixties, we're in good shape, so it wasn't a real problem. But it would not be a suitable place for anyone with mobility issues.

As I arrived to the premises, the lady clocked me from their apartment and let us in. Very welcoming. Apartment on first floor. On entry to building you could see they were renovating. On entry to the apartment..... WOW. So inviting, I wished we were staying there for more than one night! We had a language barrier, but that didn't stop them from trying to help us with seeing if somewhere would be open for us to eat at the late hour. Lovely hosts. Everything you could possibly want, from a comfy bed to amenities including a welcome basket. Would love to come and stay again. Almost in the centre of town but would never have known. Parking off road.
