We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

NetherlandsWe should have asked for an extra blanket. But that was completely on us.
The staff were very friendly and flexible. We had arrived after the kitchen had closed (we also booked about 30 minutes before we arrived, the manager returned to the hotel to check us in as checkin had closed at 20 and we arrived at 2010). She then went out of her way to get us something to eat and drink and to make sure that we had good rooms to stay in. The rooms were basic but cosy and comfortable, well maintained and spotless and the shower was really nice. The blankets were a little thin (not cold though) and a bit too short for some of my companions (tall Dutch people). I am sure they would have fixed this if we had asked for help, but we didn't as we were super tired and arrived late. Breakfast was excellent and not expensive. Staff spoke both German and English. The stay was inexpensive. The theming of the hotel is Herbs and Herbology, it smelled very pleasant and felt clean, light and inviting. The surroundings were beautiful.

GermanyWaiting for the check in was long, no one was at stand, we had to call by phone and lady drives from other village. In the same time there was a stuff in the restaurant but they were ignoring us, so it was about 30 minutes awaiting for the check in.

CanadaThe owner was very unfriendly, unhelpful, gave you the feeling you were only there to get the money. She was either unknowledgeable about the area for best spots to go for canel tours or just unwilling to engage in any conversation about the area in general even when speaking German. She did not make us feel welcome at all. The church across the street rang its bell on the hour, half hour, and every 15 minute interval so if looking to sleep in it’s not the place to go.
Overall the hired staff was friendly. The restaurant food was good, we had a meal there when first arriving and the friendly front desk person managed to get us a meal even though the kitchen had just closed. The building itself was good and represented the ethnic Gasthaus feeling we were hoping for.

GermanyThe bed was pretty uncomfortable as a couple. The mattresses kept pushing apart and someone ends up sleeping in the gap.
Its a simple guesthouse with basic facilities. We enjoyed the easy access to Spreewald by bike. Breakfast was good and the dinner menu looked ok too. Room was clean and the small shower room was modern and clean.

GermanyThe room was very smelly. Despite opening the window every time, the air didn't seem to change at all. Additionally, I noticed a stark contrast between the room pictured and the room I actually received; they looked completely different, which was quite misleading. Lastly, the breakfast had limited choices and was quickly emptied.
The hotel's location was good; it was close to the Burg and convenient for walking around with a dog.
