How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewParking place for the bikes is a bit far away from the hotel. It didn’t feel secure nor protected from the rain (but the bikes were alright when we left them there overnight).

Verified reviewBeautiful garden and location. Marvioulos building.
We asked for an extra bed several times even weeks before our arrival as our room was advertised with this option. Upon our arrival there was a bit of a confusion and we only recieved an inflatable bed, which would not have been an issue. However, the mattres defleated in the middle of the night. For this price range we expected a bit more from such a nice hotel. Overall it was fine for one night.

Verified reviewThe manor is beautifully situated and offers a peaceful, charming retreat away from the hustle and bustle. The building and surroundings are truly lovely, with a lot of character and attention to detail. A car will be conveniemt, as there are no restaurants in walking distance.
Unfortunately, the service did not meet expectations — especially given the high price point. 2 months before our arrival, we had specifically requested, and in two attempts, a baby cot for our one-year-old, as the booking platform indicated this was available on request. On entering our room, however, there wasn't one and upon asking, we were bluntly told that such a thing did not exist. They said that therefore they gave us a room with a single bed — which clearly isn’t suitable for a toddler. When we told them that a one-year-old can fall out there, they said, we should work with pillows. No solution was offered, and more disappointingly, there was not even an apology. Check-out was similarly annoying: no one was at the front desk, and although we rang the bell three times, no one came. When someone eventually showed up, they reproached us that we should have rung the bell. There was still no apology or acknowledgment of the inconvenience — much like with the baby bed issue. It’s a shame — the property has great potential, but at this price point, a basic level of hospitality and professionalism should be a given.

Verified reviewThe house and the gardens are beautiful! I stayed in the annex. It was dated, but clean, wine classes and cock screw as a nice touch as was the little coffee machine.
They were impossible to get hold of. Never answered any mail, phone or message on the app. They said I had to book a table if I wanted dinner. I replied that I did and gave a time. Just generic messages in response. I asked repeatedly for confirmation, still more generic messages. For three weeks. In the end I contacted booking.com who then contacted the hotel and told me that they would get back to me. Which they didn’t. In the end, I brought a picnic. I would have given nearly full marks, were it not for their total lack of communication.

Verified reviewWe took the Puttgarden–Rødby ferry to arrive in Denmark and had the pleasure of staying at this hotel. After the long drive through Germany, we could not have been happier to stop here. We especially enjoyed having dinner in the calm and peaceful dining hall, and the garden was absolutely lovely. Breakfast was plentiful. The staff was very attentive and friendly. We traveled with our dog, while she wasn’t allowed indoors, there was a beautiful garden area where we could enjoy drinks together, which was a great alternative.
The bathroom in the annex was a bit outdated.

Verified reviewThe property itself was beautiful, with lovely grounds that made for a wonderful place to walk and explore. The interiors of the mansion were breathtaking. The breakfast was delicious, offering a nice variety of options to start the day and their wine selection in the evening was good.
Upon arrival, we were surprised to find that our room was not in the mansion, but instead in another building, likely built in the 1970s, despite having booked with the expectation of staying in the mansion. We also encountered some cleanliness issues in the bathroom, with bugs around the bathtub and floor, which was concerning. Additionally, the absence of a hairdryer in the room was an inconvenience, especially as we were getting married the next day. When we requested one, the response was simply "no," which we found surprising and a bit unaccommodating. We had hoped to relax and unwind at the mansion after our wedding, but it was disappointing to discover that the property operates as a foundation rather than a traditional hotel, which meant there was no room service. When we tried to make a lunch reservation for the following day, we were told it was fully booked. While we understand that this can happen, the fact that this was the only dining option on the property left us feeling unprepared and let down. Additionally, when we asked for recommendations for nearby restaurants, we were not given any suggestions, which added to our disappointment. It’s clear that many guests are local and familiar with the area, but as non-locals, we would have greatly appreciated more guidance in response to our inquiries.

Verified reviewgreat breakfast and picturesque location
1. If you have not made a reservation at the restaurant along with your room, you will be refused dinner. When we asked where we could eat, the manager recommended that we go to the neighboring town. Although their restaurant was open, and the hotel itself is 7 km away from the city in the forest. It was my birthday that day, and we asked if we could at least order food to our room? We were reluctantly told that we could only choose one dish from their restaurant and eat it in our room. We travel a lot, but this is the first time we have encountered such “hospitality”. 2. phenomenal audibility, you can hear everythin 3. not worth the money

We stayed at the annex and the room was not nicely clean, there were a lot of huge spiders and spider webs inside the room and bathroom. The ceiling in the bathroom had an exposed part. The balcony also had a lot of spider webs.

Verified reviewHard to say without getting to know the Hotel.
I contacted the hotel two days before our arrival to inform them that we would be arriving late, and I received only an automated response stating they would reply to us as soon as possible. When we arrived at Fulgsang, there was no one at the reception, no one answered the phone, and no one ever got back to us. Some guests tried to help us and informed us that the staff had left earlier that day. After a nine-hour drive and being unable to access the already-paid room, we had to book a room at another hotel one hour away. We opted for Fulgsang Herregaard because it is close to Gedser, where we could catch the earliest ferry to Germany. In the end, we arrived at the new hotel almost at 1 a.m., having to wake up at 4 a.m. to get to the harbor on time. Imagine how frustrating and upsetting this situation was for us. Until now, neither the hotel nor the booking site has replied to our emails.
