Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

DenmarkWe booked a family holiday house and for one night stay it was ok but for a longer period that living room felt too a bit small and squeezed.
Breakfest was great, location of the hotel extremely good - by the beach. Car park available.

I like everything in my stay in this hotel in spite of the inclement weather: i could have even borrowed wellies ! Delightful room and little salon facing the sea, great food at the restaurant. My last night stay in Denmark was just lovely.

SingaporeBreakfast could have been a bit more exciting but perhaps my expectations were too high after reading earlier reviews. However, I do think it was a rather poor offering for the price.
Cute hotel in a lovely location right beside the beach in this cute little town/village. Quiet hotel with very friendly staff.

GermanyWe were traveling with a first grader and the lack of doors to one of the upstairs rooms, as well as the general lack of noise reduction, made it impossible to talk at normal volume past bedtime (or do anything but whisper, let alone watch TV). This is not really a fault of the hotel, but a better description of the available options might have given us a head's up. While we enjoyed the stay overall, this reduced the amount of relaxation the adults were able to have during the stay as we needed to tiptoe around the house at night, and navigate a creaking staircase in the dark. The major bedroom also had two single beds next to each other and not two separate ones - a disappointment but not a complete dealbreaker though. The breakfast options were of high quality and frequently replenished. However there was not a lot of variation, e.g. only heavily salted butter (which personally I liked, but not everyone does), no fish options (curious as there is so much good cured and smoked fish in this area). The Ship-Inn bistro/restaurant didn't have any kid-friendly options except for a side of fries. I understand that Ship Inn is more an "adult-focused" venue, but we were not aware what other options there were instead at Badehotel's Pavillion or in the town. Hjerting Badehotel is a treat, a nice getaway. If you have an older child with you, it might be the perfect place. If you are a group of close friends, you will have a nice time. It is also a really good place for couples. We really liked it but would probably not return as a family with a first grader.
The Hjerting Badehotel is a very cute, cozy hotel with a spectacular view. We were staying in one of the semi-detached two-story beach houses that belong to the hotel. They have a kitchen, a bathroom and two bedrooms, as well as a very cozy living room. All in all the accommodation is very cute, very "hygge", with nice little maritime touches everywhere. The sofa is comfortable and it was nice being able to sit outside on the patio in the evening to unwind from the day. The staff was very friendly and made our stay pleasant. The little brook outside the houses, alongside the wildflowers that bordered the pathway to each house were a wonderful little touch that we enjoyed very much. The food at the Ship Inn was very delicious and generally affordable (considering location, view and quality of the meal). The hotel is literally a few meters from the beach and in the center of the little town Hjerting, close to Esbjerg. The breakfast was nice, with homemade bread, rugbrod and pastries, cold cuts, cheese as well as Musli and yoghurt. There is parking on premises. There are several options for snacks and groceries in the town center or closeby. The view is really exceptional and sweetened our days throughout our stay.

United KingdomNothing, enjoyed it all, would like to go back someday.
We arrived fairly late to this hotel but we still had a nice greeting on arrival and were able to pick up our keys from the Ship Inn. Lovely property and excellent beds and facilities in the property, very light and airy nicely decorated and perfect for our stay. We went to the Ship Inn for a few drinks and it was a lovely place to be, really cosy and great service. Breakfast was great, plenty to choose from and a lovely setting once again to sit and enjoy it.

ChinaRight now it's so cold, even indoor, it took like over one hour to heat up to feel warm when switch on the heat in the room.
What I like is that the view from window is amazing from balcony, although not the sea view. And the room is clean, nice, the bed, OMG, so soft and cozy, don't even wanna get up, LOL. In addition, the breakfast is so tasty, and the lady in the restaurant so nice and friendly.

SwedenThe location of the flat was next to a road that saw many vehicles passing by so it was noisy on a weekday. We were surprised by the amount of traffic and the noise on this road in this residential community.
