Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIf I really have to complain i.e., No hair dryer and you have to pay for your bed sheets, quilt cover and pillow cases. DKK100 for 2 persons.
Extremely convenient. Very close to Gaagade (walking Street) and Aarhus train station, basically in the centre of Aarhus city centre. 8-10 minutes walking distance. For the price you are paying, that location and facilities, what's there to complain!!??

ItalyI had a double room with an attached shower/ toilet but the room is very small and basic. Not even a desk. The breakfast was great but the same every day.
The shared spaces, the bar, the cantine, food of the menu, the breakfast were all very good.

AustriaThere is no quiet room to chill, in the bar area there was always playing music. No tables to eat and play games, only the Restaurant.
Great and safe Location. We booked a two person bed and it was quiet and quite dark in the night. Very nice staff.

ItalyHost website explicitly tells linens are included for any bed, which is not true. Price for linens should be made explicit. For the sake of transparency, the actual price (linens included) should be the price shown and paid on Booking. Shower drain was badly clogged, clearly not taken care of for a long time. They told me they were already aware of this... nonetheless, I had to repair it myself to use the shower.
Comfy beds, decent isolation even in 8-bed rooms, individual storage space. Good position in the city. Good overall cleanliness of beds and common spaces. In general, good quality for a hostel, still keeping a hostel price. Nice interior design, for who's interested.

SwitzerlandTo pay for the bed linen, for the towel, basically for everything. No kitchen. Half of the staff is real nice and the other half doesn’t want to work.
The location. The price. Rooms large enough and clean.

United KingdomNot enough staff on reception/bar during busy evening checkin time which meant i had to wait ages to get a drink and food.
I like the pod idea - although they're packed close together you still get privacy and the beds were massive. Lockers are away from the pods which means less disturbance when people are getting their stuff

CanadaThe rooms are small and could use some more hooks and storage space. Even small changes like hooks by the beds and storage under the beds would make a big difference. I don’t love paying for linens or luggage storage. Just add it to the overall price.
Gorgeous lobby, exceptional staff, great location, and interesting events. Nice beer selection too. Also, looks quite new.

NorwayI think paying extra for bedding, then more for a towel, then more again for luggage storage during my stay is not the best tactic for this place. It is fine for oldies like me and also considering the good value room rate. But for young backpackers, this will just be a repeated nasty surprise that will provide little money and bad reviews. Maybe just assume people overnighting need bedding?
Excellent location, clients of all ages, exceptionally friendly vibe, clean and inviting public areas. Female only dorm was quiet and comfy enough. With the window open and a fan the room, the air quality was absolutely fine. There’s a bit of noise from the park - but if you need silence, don’t stay in a hostel!

PolandThere was a poor handling of clima and especially during worm day the rooms were super warm and the facility was lacking fans due to demand. We managed to get the last one but it wasn't able to cool down the room
The location is perfect and prices are reasonable for a trip with friends/shared room. The stuff was also friendly and we didn't have any problems

United KingdomWe were a family of four in an 8-person dorm. I’m sure it was as should be. Light kept going on during night at slightest movement.
It was clean, staff super nice, retro feel in communal areas - which was spacious and comfortable, food was good, breakfast quality over quantity.

SlovakiaWe had a double room. Although there was plenty of space for some shelves, which would have been very helpful, there was nowhere to unpack the baggage except the bed. The shower didn't drain properly. It was very noisy outside one night, with drunk people gathered in front of the hotel, and nobody cared.

United KingdomUnable to consume own food and drinks in the social area, with the food and drink on offer in the hostel being very expensive. It should be considered that many people who choose hostels do so because of the price point, and I could not fathom paying so much for the meals - £8-£15 per meal is simply not in my budget especially when staying for as many nights as I did. No shared kitchen either which doesn't help, it feels like they justified their prices because they know people can't make their own food, so you either eat out or you bring your food and sit in your hostel room (quite uncomfortable to do so) or eat outside which can be difficult as Aarhus was quite cold and rainy.
The spaces within the hostel are very beautiful, overlooks molleparken which is lovely to sit in when the weather serves you, central location which was very convenient for going around the city. Can't fault the price per night, you have a curtain with your bed for privacy. You can't sit straight up in the bed without your head hitting the ceiling but I had very few problems with the room overall. Staff were always available for any queries or questions, and the items on for rent were of a good price.
