How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewExtremely convenient. Very close to Gaagade (walking Street) and Aarhus train station, basically in the centre of Aarhus city centre. 8-10 minutes walking distance. For the price you are paying, that location and facilities, what's there to complain!!??
If I really have to complain i.e., No hair dryer and you have to pay for your bed sheets, quilt cover and pillow cases. DKK100 for 2 persons.

Verified reviewNice lobby with bar and restaurant, friendly staff, clean room, great location
Window is not isolated, so you can hear everything from outside.

Verified reviewThe shared spaces, the bar, the cantine, food of the menu, the breakfast were all very good.
I had a double room with an attached shower/ toilet but the room is very small and basic. Not even a desk. The breakfast was great but the same every day.

Verified reviewIt was in a fabulous location, I loved the lobby and the bar. Staff was really nice and helpful, they helped us for all of our questions about the city. Rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable.
The room was a bit small and the space between the beds was narrow.

Verified reviewIt was quite clean, the stuff took care the hygiene very carefully. The stuff was very friendly and helpful. Really good coffee and in good prices.
I didn't like that there was no kitchen or at least fridge that I could use, and I only had to pay for meals from the hostel's restaurant.

Verified reviewThere is a collaborative dinner which seems very nice. Overall it is a modern and young environment.
NB that some rooms have no direct view on outside, only a window that lets some light enter. The Booking account of the hotel was hacked, I received fishing messages asking me to click on suspicious links. It is only by calling the hotel that I knew about this (no pro-active notification).

Verified reviewGreat and safe Location. We booked a two person bed and it was quiet and quite dark in the night. Very nice staff.
There is no quiet room to chill, in the bar area there was always playing music. No tables to eat and play games, only the Restaurant.

Verified reviewI slept in a Dream Box and it was quite cozy! It felt like being a cat sleeping in a box. The ventilation fan was a bit noisy relative to the amount of air it seemed to move (which didn't seem like much) and the ladder was a bit awkward to climb into the higher box, but honestly these are things I kind of expect. The other guests were quiet and respectful and the place felt clean and well looked after. Nice decor. Staff were helpful. I would stay there again.
The lights in the bathrooms/showers are on timers and the timer is surprisingly short - I wasn't in there an excessively long time, but when I was the only person there the shower room went completely dark which was, as you can imagine, not a great situation mid-shower. It would be great if they adjusted the timers to stay on longer, or just installed a manual timer or switch.

Verified reviewGreat place to stay, well located and above all it is a very nice place to stay, the bar, the common areas, the staff, really amazing!
If I have to say something, the 4 beds room would be better with a window.

Verified reviewComfy beds, decent isolation even in 8-bed rooms, individual storage space. Good position in the city. Good overall cleanliness of beds and common spaces. In general, good quality for a hostel, still keeping a hostel price. Nice interior design, for who's interested.
Host website explicitly tells linens are included for any bed, which is not true. Price for linens should be made explicit. For the sake of transparency, the actual price (linens included) should be the price shown and paid on Booking. Shower drain was badly clogged, clearly not taken care of for a long time. They told me they were already aware of this... nonetheless, I had to repair it myself to use the shower.

Was extremely warm in the room. I am not pretentious, but in that room it was impossible to sleep.

Verified reviewThe location. The price. Rooms large enough and clean.
To pay for the bed linen, for the towel, basically for everything. No kitchen. Half of the staff is real nice and the other half doesn’t want to work.

Verified reviewI like the pod idea - although they're packed close together you still get privacy and the beds were massive. Lockers are away from the pods which means less disturbance when people are getting their stuff
Not enough staff on reception/bar during busy evening checkin time which meant i had to wait ages to get a drink and food.
