How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThere was warm water. I didn’t see bugs. The wifi worked.
Cleanliness is questionable. There were crumbs from previous guests next to my mattress, so I would not be surprised to find bugs. One of the two showers was clogged and the place looked to be barely functional. Didn’t see any staff during my stay. The bunk bed is extremely rickety and noisy - can’t turn around without bothering everyone. Everything screams cheap and shitty, like an exercise in how much you can charge for refugee camp level facilities. I paid about 50 Euro and felt thoroughly ripped off. It’s a 16-bed dorm that opens directly to the street. The main door is not separated from the beds. When someone tried to check in at 1:30 and failed to open the door, it was loud enough that both I and another guest got up to help them. I had low expectations and was still surprised by the audacity to charge 50 Euro for this. Rethink if you really want to risk staying here.

Verified review⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️ Nothing. It’s the worst place of the world.
⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️ Everything is bad. There is no reception, the code for the door doesn’t work, the beds are really bad, the bathrooms are not clean, there is a smell of fish in all the hostel, there is no TV, the wifi doesn’t work normally. You need to not reserve this place. It’s better to not go to Odense than to go to this hostel.

Verified reviewWas pretty empty, as such it was calm. Good location near both the city center and the train station. Food truck near by so you wont go hungry. Confortable matress.
There were multiuple "Cabins" for the bathroom, but the main door could be locked. Due to this it is possible that one person locks all the bathrooms (by locking the main door, instead of the individual one) by mistakew which can be very anoying. Not a lot of desprition on which bed/room is which

Verified reviewclose to city, cheapest option (but not cheap by any means)
paid sheets, no staff, old and outdated, partially broken equipment. Felt like a very lazy host.

Verified reviewI had a pod which was great, not many other guests so it was quiet. Kitchen was well equipped. I was given apples.
Needed more signage to assist finding it. I had to ask at the restaurant for directions. No tv just cable.

Verified reviewCentral location.
The "sleeping pod" was just a wooden contraption connected to a bunk bed. It creaked and was noisy and not in the least soundproof. You could hear and feel every movement from the occupied "pod" (top bunk) above. There was also a gap at the back so it was not dark when you turned the light off. There were no staff around to complain to. In fact, I did not see any staff in the two days I stayed except when I checked in. Some people in the hostel beds, located in the same room, came in at 5am and talked loudly until I eventually gave up on trying to sleep and left at 6am. I stayed in a "modular" type of accommodation in Copenhagen the days before which did provide privacy for a similar price and this was not comparable.

Verified reviewI would not recommend this place. the pictures are not representative of the place. I thought I booked a hostel capsule, but it was a shady underground room with furniture. The adres was not correct, the owner did not answer to Phone calls. I thought it was a scam. the neighbouring businesses also did not know about this place. thankfully the owner answered on the messages on Booking.com rather fast and gave me the correct address and a code to open the door. when I entered I hesitated to cancel my booking and book something else. everything about the place makes it creepy (including the wifi called “crazy Hans” and a sign on the cupboard saying “wash your dishes I am watching you :)”. I did not sleep in the capsule as I booked (there were also bunkbeds free so I took one of those) as the capsule was just a prefabricated Chinese capsule dropped in a room, plugs and light not working. Thankfully someone else arrived later that night. the other person was as confused about the place as I was. I did not see the owner.
