I do not eat Chinese food so having that as my only option for meals wasn't ideal. Added to that, options to eat out were very limited. No supermarket or mini mart in the area so I could cook on my own.

I love how nice the staff were and the fact that they cleaned daily. The scenery was great, it was relaxing to wake up to the sound of a river and birds chirping. The AC in the room was great for those hot nights. I enjoyed my stay.

The exterior. It needs painting and upkeep. The stairs are steep and the building has no elevator. Mostly everything in the room is written in Chinese language so people speaking English have a hard time following the direstions. The showers and TV for example. The checkout time online says between 12 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. and it caused a little confusion because the receptionist says chevkout is 12 p.m., so this needs to be fixed.

Our 2nd stay at this hotel. Came here as an stay due to an emergency visit for a funeral. The place was as before with a great view of the river and it’s wonderful peaceful and soothing sound. The staff were great especially if there was an issue it would be solved very speedily. Valda was extremely attentive, as with the other staff, but she when the extra mile to make sure our stay was comfortable. She fixed the TV and sliding door, stopped the window from shaking. Truly going beyond the call of duty as a receptionist. The rest of the team from reception, housekeeping, security and maintenance were all great. Thank you all so much which made a sad visit a very pleasant stay. God bless you all.

TV and remote was in chinese. Netflix and other online viewing apps in English, but no clear directions on how to navigate to those options without understanding Chinese.

There are a lot of stairs to our accommodation, so if you have any mobility issues, please ensure you mention when booking. A suggestion to the hotel that some outside furniture would be a bonus to enjoy breakfast outside in the mornings.

Kitchen was not fully equipped with essential equipment and had to ask for items to be added. No hot water in the bathroom sinks was very unexpected and inconvenient and the shower water temp was very awkward to adjust. It is not clear from the hotel description and pictures that the two bedroom unit is not in the main hotel, only accessible by a flight of steep stairs and the internal layout does not include a lounge.

From the airport to the hotel was almost narrow mountain road, an hour drive.

It was like the inside of the forest though the location was not far at all from the downtown center. And the room was good with balcony and water streaming sound from the creek. Overall it was a good healing place.

Although they organised a taxi to meet us at the airport it didn't come. Luckily another driver was able to bring us. They told us the car hire should accept credit cards so when cash was needed this caused a problem for us . We should have brought more us dollars cash. In the room we had a large sofa but very low, so not so comfortable for us. Also the info had suggested a garden but there is no garden at all.

Nice little balcony overlooking river. Two comfortable beds. Lots of choice for evening meals, loved the Chinese and Thai choices. Friendly staff. They organised car hire for us.

We had a great holiday in Dominica, partly due to our accommodation at Riverside Hotel. It’s a very peaceful place to stay, alongside a small, fast-flowing river. This attracts lots of tropical birds and butterflies to the vegetation at the side of it. Others have stated that it brings mosquitos. We stayed at the hotel for a week in May, had the windows open during the day, but did not get any sort of insect bites. There isn’t a pool, but a long sandy beach is just five minutes’ walk away. The suites are spacious and comfortable, with plenty of storage space for clothes etc. The staff is very welcoming and helpful, suggesting places to visit, eat, etc. We ate at the restaurant in the hotel most of the time. The menu is very varied and the prices very reasonable, and the helpings very generous. I can certainly recommend the Riverside Hotel.

the rooms are spacious, clean, fully equipped. great internet speed, tv with access to multiple streaming platforms for a night in. the restaurant downstairs is a bit expensive, but great food. breakfast is complete and varied

The kitchen has very limited supplies so cooking a full meal might be a challenge. It would be nice to have a few chairs on the balcony to sit out and enjoy the river and scenery. The motel does not appear to be locally owned by Dominicans.

A one bedroom unit in a four story motel located next to a river and about a 10 minute walk to the ocean. This motel has an on site restaurant and about 6-10 parking spaces out front. Located off the main road this is a quiet place to stay near Portsmouth. They have daily maid service also.

Photos are to good and therefore you have certain expectations which are not met in the end. We booked a Sea view Suite. By the size of it this shouldn't be called a Suite but one bedroom apartment. It is a bit small but the room and living room are new. Bathroom needs renovation. Our apartment had the view to the river and trees, just a bit of sea was visible on the side and in the distance. Therefore sea view in description was incorrect as we had only a partial sea side apartment.

Sounds of the river near the hotel were so relaxing. Ladies working at the front desk were very nice and kind. We mostly communicated with Jennel and she was so helpful.

This is a great hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. My apartment was lovely and suitably equipped, with one balcony overlooking the river and a larger one on the other side. Very quiet location and not far to the nearest beach. The restaurant downstairs does good food although I think that the breakfast was slightly overpriced at US$10 for what you got, but for evening meals the prices were comparable to elsewhere.
