How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewWe had a great stay at Veranda View. Hermine is great to talk to! The location is wonderful, we didn't swim, however it was an easy walk to the store for basics and restaurants and bars (we loved Unique Seaview Restaurant). There was a rooster crowing from 2 am on but who knows, maybe it'll be in the pot by the time others stay! Calibishie was a great place to stay as a home base, easy drives (minus the numerous potholes and narrow roads) to #1 Beach, Batibou Bay, Baw Nef Falls, Chaudiere Pool, Morne Diablotins hike. Bonus being close to the airport! Also of note, the windows are not glass, just bars and shutters, so you have to use the mosquito netting at night to keep bugs off of you. It cools off enough that it is comfortable at night (we were there in March). Also there is a warm shower hallelujah!

Verified reviewGreat location right on the waterfront, several restaurants in walking distance, charming village. Authentic Caribbean flair.
It’s true that you fall asleep to the sound of the waves, but you also wake up from the neighbor’s three roosters at 4:30am. On Saturday night the neighboring bar has a DJ playing Dancehall until 1:30am. The place has no windows. Definitely bring ear plugs. At the time of our stay water pressure in the upstairs units was minimal.

Verified reviewSuperb location right on the seafront. You couldn't get any closer to the sea without being jn it! Owner Hermien is friendly and helpful without being intrusive. Calabishie is a lovely village with plenty of eateries, some small grocery stores and an ATM. Friendly and laid back vibe.
Nothing to dislike here.

Verified reviewThe location is fantastic. Literally right on the ocean with lovely verandas to take in the amazing views. No breakfast but places to dine a few steps away.
The pillows on the bed we're the worst I've ever slept on. Felt like concrete.

Verified reviewVery friendly and helpful owner. Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. No airconditioning, but a fan and the sea breeze do the trick. There's a mosquito net, which will protect you from the hungry bugs. From the terrace you overlook the beautiful northern coast.

We wished that the Chinese airport construction trucks would at least take a break on the weekends.

Verified reviewI loved the colors, the cozy atmosphere, the friendly owner, and most of all the stunning view.
The only thing was that there were a lot of mosquitos in our room at night. She had a bug zapper that was fun to use and a mosquito net over the bed, but a fan closer to the bed would have helped to shoo the bugs away.

Little kitchen set up (I only made instant coffee) Easy walk to a few good waterfront restaurant options in Calibishie. Chaise lounges on deck for sunbathing or stargazing at night. Very friendly host. 3 sweet dogs to pet if you’re missing yours at home! I will definitely go back next time I go to Dominica!

Verified reviewHermien was a wonderful host. The guest house is in a perfect location, the ocean views, sounds and breezes were amazing. We had a private veranda overlooking the ocean, the room was spacious and complete with kitchenette and private bath. Also close to restaurants and mini grocery store for supplies. Hermien gave us so much information about the town of Calibishie and the island at large, and was so helpful contacting Wendy with Untouchable Tours to set us up for several great excursions.

Verified reviewFelt immediately at home in this beautifully-decorated and very comfortable small guest house with its fabulous location, right on the beach in Calibishie. There was everything I needed for my short stay, and more. Falling asleep to the sound of the Atlantic Ocean every night was wonderful, as was relaxing on the lovely verandah. Owner Hermien’s colourful artwork and carefully-chosen details make this a special haven and she is so friendly and helpful, even giving me a lift to the airport. The guest house is moments’ walk away from a shop and local restaurants. The bus will drop you right outside and you’re just a short distance on foot or by bus from beautiful local beaches and local attractions including Red Rocks and the Pointe Baptiste Chocolate Factory. A magical place to unwind - I just wish I could’ve stayed longer.
Nothing.
