Ah, maybe a bit of noise from outside (neighbourhood), but it was OK for us.

We really enjoyed our short stay at this place. The host helped us arrange a taxi from airport, it was very convenient. We were welcomed warmly and even got a cup of coffee next morning, which was a very pleasant gesture. We'd highly recommend staying here.

The apartment I stayed in was on the street, so very noisy until a little later. Perhaps add darkening curtains since the street lights are very bright through both windows facing the street.

The apartment is super valued for money and comes very well equipped even with coffee and tea bags. Alexandra and Fabio couldn't have been more welcoming. Fabio picked us up at the airport for 950 pesos or 15 dollars and for same money brought us to the bus station next morning. Nice safe area with delightful hosts.

Nothing except some street dogs barking around 2 A.M. otherwise it's perfect for me.

The staff were really helpful and they did their best to help me especially picking me up from the airport after midnight. The room was sparkling clean and drinking water was provided. I wished I could stay longer but it's always fully booked.

Very noisy in the morning with traffic, construction workers etc. but I'm starting to think it's everywhere in the Dominican Republic.

Very good host. She ensured that everything was available in the room, got dinner delivered for me and helped me with information to travel to Santo Domingo. Her husband dropped me to the bus station. I was taken care of very well.

The circular staircase in the left of the photo could have been a deal breaker because hauling the baggage up to the apartment would have been beyond our capabilities. However, the taxi driver (Wilson) she uses is a young muscular man and he hauled the suitcases up for us. He charges a healthy taxi fee ($30) but it is worth it knowing he is a trustworthy person and is capable of wrestling with those bags. He drove us to and from dinner for $20. Unless they have a ground floor apartment available, you must be able to climb the stairs--I was able to with a bad knee.

The apartment was small but very functional and is located less than five miles from the airport. It was furnished by the owner with love and it shows. It was spotless and well maintained. There was no A/C but plenty of windows to allow breezes. The front door could remain open as there was a burglar bar type restraint that could be locked if you have a padlock. We did not need to leave it open. There was a large fan in the bedroom. There were kitchen utensils, a two-burner hot plate, a microwave, and a refrigerator that contained filtered water. There is a private patio. The owner lived in the apartment below the rental unit and you could not find a nicer person. We were introduced to her family (mother, daughter, grandkids) and were treated like one of the family. My wife and I hugged her when we left. She has limited English but we got by just fine using phone app translators. In a few months, they hope to have a ground floor apartment available. You might shy away because of the low rental cost but the apartment is well worth it and is located in a residential neighborhood. We felt safe there. Highly recommended and we would stay there again.
