Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandCould be more generous with fruit at breakfast. Self service would be better at least for fruit and cereal.
Place with plenty of character with great swim jet/endless pool and access to neighbouring gym. We stayed in Hermanas suite / King suite on booking.com. Which was good value plenty of space and windows overlooking the pool. Staff friendly and helpful.

Germany- the pool area isn’t as welcoming as the pictures suggest - the sun doesn’t reach the pool in the afternoon and the lounge chairs in the pool are a little dirty - price-quality ratio (despite the pool & rooftop) probably isn’t as good as it should be, compared to other 3* boutique hotels in the area.
- Location was great to explore the old town - breakfast was simple but nice (comparable to other 3* hotels in DR (a few options/menus to choose from): fresh fruits and juice, coffee, eggs, toast, butter and jam. They also always gave us some yogurt and granola from another breakfast menu choice :)). - rooftop area to chill when you’re tired from exploring the town - free water refills

United StatesGreat location, great staff, very helpful. The breakfast is awesome. Areas they could improve on is better wi-fi, (spotty through areas), and simple things like having ice available to make drinks in your room (there’s no bar anymore, they closed it), and fix broken and dirty facilities like shower doors, beat up room furniture, etc.

PolandI could feel humidity in the room, it was even visible in wet posters in the frames inside the room. The window was so small and up high, the room was all the time dark (Gomez room). The breakfasts were very small and rather simple.
The hotel has a nice colonial vibe, it was calm and comfortable. I liked common areas a lot. The staff was helpful and nice. Very good location. I also felt safe in that area.

United KingdomThis hotel is quaint and lovely but needs a little more attention to detail... Lamps not working, towel rails loose, no TV remote control and no way to successfully operate it without. The hotel has a boutique feel and is great - there's nothing wrong with it, as such... It just needs a little maintenance and TLC to elevate it to where it wants to position itself in the market.
The location, in the Colonial Zone, was great and the staff very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and a good size.

Canada- bathroom door could not open/close fully which also created a draft when taking a shower - general wifi did not reach our room on the top level so we burned through data the first day until we discovered there was a different network, and we asked the front desk for that password. after that, didn't have issues - pool and the jacuzzi were extremely cold - some small insects in the room
- friendly/helpful staff - decent breakfast - good location, walking distance to main sights/restaurants/grocery stores - bathroom had good counter space and water pressure/temperature - we felt safe in the area

United StatesI only had 2 warm showers during my 5 night stay. The hot water and water pressure was inconsistent in my room. One time there wasn't enough pressure and the rest of the days I had to take a cold shower. I'm guessing when others were using water it didn't work. If you don't mind a coldish shower it's not a problem (not icy at least). It didn't ruin my stay but I definitely expected warm water for the price. There was no window in my room. In my particular situation this worked out ok, because I think it made for less noise for sleeping, but for the price and the images I had seen of the place, I expected at least some daylight in my room. Communication before check-in could have been better. I arrived after dark and there weren't instructions about how to get in. You can't get in without a code, so someone needs to buzz you in when you arrive for the first time. Oh, also, the jacuzzi water on the roof was cold and not super clean. Again, that didn't ruin my stay because I had other things to do, but if that is one of the reasons you are choosing this spot, just know it might not be working to set your expectations.
Bed was comfortable and big (two twins pushed together). AC and/or ceiling fan option was nice to have and worked well. Good private bathroom, but hot water didn't work 4/6 days. Pretty seating area for breakfast in courtyard. It was nice to have breakfast included and the kitchen staff was lovely. Good location for walking around. Drinking water available in the lobby to refill your bottle was great. Tourist map of the city provided at check in.

ItalyThe room was moist and in general old and outdated. I think they should renew the rooms to transform the hotel into a proper bijoux.
The hotel Is very cute and all the shared areas are nice and very typical from the ciudad colonial. The swimming pool is very refreshing and the Jacuzzi in the terrace is a nice addition.
