Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

RomaniaEverything is just amazing here!
This place is magical like everyone is saying, the hosts and staff- amazing people!!!! You feel at home here, one big family. It is clean, well organized and if you are looking to socialize this is the place! Unfortunately ( because of personal reasons) I had to stay for 1 night, but this place is just amazing! Close to the beach, maybe 10, 15 minutes by walk, free coffee during the morning, the dogs are just sweet! Attention to details ( perfume in the room). Thank you for your hospitality! ❤️

BelgiumDon't stay there if you want to go to sleep before 11pm. There's music in the evening which is usually pretty loud.
Very big common area. Nice atmosphere and nice staff. They sometimes organize activities like dance lessons or group dinner.

PolandOnly cold water in the shower, a bit disappointing. No mosquito nets over the beds, it was actually the only place during my trip that was missing them.
Great location in the center of the town but hidden from the main street in a small park-like area. Nice staff. Clean. No keys to the room, just the code, so you don't need to carry them. The terrace by the room is a great place to eat and socialize.

Honestly, this is the best hostel I’ve been to so far. The rooms are clean, beds with curtains and plenty of space in your private locker. If you want there’s private room options as well. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need and lots of things free to use. Drinking water is for free as well. Chinola is cooking family dinners now and then and for just 300-400 pesos you’ll get an amazing meal. Location is nice, easy to walk to beaches and bars, Supermarkets near by and it feels safe even walking on my own at night time. People here try to give you the best experience: helping out with questions, connecting everyone in a WhatsApp group, going out together at night, joining dance classes together and first of all being super friendly and generous. I’m looking forward to come back soon.

GermanyI highly recommend this hostel if you are staying in Las Terrenas. The location makes everything easier. In less than 10min walk you will find yourself at the beach. There are supermarkets and restaurants nearby too. The staff and the owners are so welcoming, they even hang out and go out with the guests. The backpacking atmosphere in the common area makes you travel even more. A 10 out of 10.

United KingdomThe place could've been cleaner, especially the dorm bathroom, but it's difficult to keep the sand and stuff out when you're close to the beach I suppose.
The people at Hostel 23 welcome you like family and give a lot of help and assistance. There's a great kitchen and lounge area to relax in and chat to other guests. There's a really good cafe at the end of the driveway, and other places to eat are not far away.

Bosnia and HerzegovinaBeautiful house just taken over by a dynamic multilingual young couple working hard to bring it to its former glory. While some facilities (most notably showers) are yet to be updated, the hostel already has everything you may need – responsive staff, well-equipped kitchen, reliable wifi, great safe location, big communal areas, and warm hospitality. Went from booking for 1 night to staying a full week. P.S. Recent name change gets taxi drivers take you to a wrong address. Hostel access road is directly opposite El Pan de Antes bakery.

My stay at the hostel , like everybody , has longer than expected since the place is so fantastic. You ll find find a very friendly staff, the owners are really both amazing persons from who I learned a lot either about the culture , the dishes and the music. I ll surely come back there

United StatesThere was no hot water in the showers. When I arrived at the hostel all the bottom beds were taken, and I upgraded to a single room but I don't think it was worth it. It was very sparse, they were very few outlets for power.
This place was okay. The kitchen was huge. The staff was great! This would not be my first choice if I was coming back to this area.
