Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The room looked dirty as there were dead insects and they don’t offer room service.

All good - nothing to say here
Great location, air-conditioned comfortable room. Kind host let us leave luggage while on trip to Punta Cana. Free Netflix....would definitely come back here.

Really, the only thing that comes to mind is that the beds were fairly creaky.
The price was excellent and the quality was great for that price point!

Nothing really. It's a good no-frills place. The walls are extremely thin tough. You can hear everything. Apart from that. A great option in Santo Domingo.
The location is great! It's a really nice budget option close to restaurants, bars and the main tourist attractions. I can totally recommend this place.

Didn’t like there was no window in room (even to internal corridor). No external/communal area. Very thin walls and quite a lot of external noise from local bars.
Good location with all Colonial zone sites in easy walking distance. Room reasonably comfortable with big bed and fridge. Simple well priced accommodation for short stay.

There was no toilet seat on the toilets ? First time I've seen this. There is no window but I knew it so it was ok.
It was exactly as avertised. Quite simple but comfortable for a night, with what you need. There is also netflix on the tv to chill. Very nice and helpful staff and the guesthouse is extremely well located.

This place is no frills but represents excellent value for money. Our first room did not have a window or toilet seat. There is no kitchen or cooking facilities. But we did go back a second time due to price and location. Thankfully second time had a toilet seat but not a great one. More than 2 nights might be a struggle for some.
Great location, value for money, has a refrigerator, air conditioning, TV. The empanada shop on the mall has the best empanadas.

There was no iron in the room (even though it was not listed in amenities it would be a bonus), requested one from the owner but they stated that it was broken. The amenities showed a mini bar with cookies, juices and water but none was provided. It was just an empty unplugged fridge). Noise from persons coming in and out but was bearable.
I liked the location. Most facilities such as food was reachable without taking a taxi (walking distance). It is located right in the Colonial Zone. The room was setup nicely. Clean and perfect for a one night stay or if you are a solo traveler (can book for longer).

We stayed one night on a Thursday. Our room, room number 1, was on the ground floor right next to the entrance door that was facing directly to the street, i.e. literally to pedestrian zone and cars. So in that sense I felt very exposed to the outside, specially because till late only a metal bar door would be closing the entrance. I needed to ask to pls close the second door that was a normal wooden one to feel a bit safer. In the night there was also a band playing nearby that was super loud playing till around midnight. So these both things were uncomfortable. Next to this the room doesn’t have windows but maybe it’s better cause otherwise it would be super loud and you would feel (specially as a woman) super exposed to the outside.
Súper clean. Friendly and helpful staff. Very central. Room spacious enough. This is short explained but extremely good.

It is a little bit noisy outside and this is due to the location of the structure. The rooms are not really soundproof. You have to pay for a bottle of water, I would have expected at least on small bottle as a courtesy
It is a very centrally located structure. It has all the basic comforts (quite comfortable bed with linens included, towels included, good shower and bathroom). Staff is helpful and always available
