How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

I specifially booked for two queen beds but I was provided a king bed and a pull up. I had to be changed and that changed did not happedn on the initial provided time but the next day when I threathened to cancel my stay and go somewhere else. The staff were rude will always speak Spanish and when I tiold them I dont they will make no effort to speak English only the ladies at the Guest service and one particular guy at the Steakhouse ( San Diago) the rest of the other staff were rude and only smiled when given a tip. My first time experience in DR I stayed at Rui and this time I brought my family wanting to try a different hotel but that was my biggest mistake. Their entertenaiment was mediocre compare to Rui Hotel.

Rooms are not properly inspected by the staff before guests arrive Cold water was not working in the jacuzzi. power outlets in bad shape and dangerous to interact with. 2 out of 5 restaurants (the best ones) in the resort require you to make a reservation and this is only done in person !! not possible to make reservations by phone which force you out of the room and walk all the way to cuatomer service which in located on the main lobby at the entrance of the resort.... keep in mind that this resort is almost 2 blocks long or a 1/4 mile long and if they put you located close to the sea, then you have to walk this distance just to make a reservation... not good for people with physical difficulties... All this you realize it after checking in and is not properly explained during the check in process. Restaurants very near the lobby close at 10 but you better arrice there early cause main dishes are exhausted pretty soon... and this happens in all restaurants.. Those same buffets in the morning where you can have breakfast close at 10... forcing you to walk all tge way to the beach where is another one open till 11.30 (for breakfast) again walking 1/4" mile... The beach is NOT nice full of algae floating around... if you want to experience large white sand beaches with a pristine blue sea where you can walk 30 meters and the water level is still 3 feet deep then THIS IS NOT YOUR BEACH. Forget about the pictures you see on internet... they are never what you will find. An additional comment... after I complainted about all this to the customer service, they took my complaints reluctantly... Sone resorts on Punta Cana offer small golf carts to help people move around the place... but not in Majestic Elegance... Staff walk around the pool but takes a lot of time for them to get to you and pick up your order. The pools run along the buildings but there is no full bar in them.... All in all experience wasn't good.

Verified reviewThe room was one of the nicest we have had at an all inclusive. Very spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly, attentive and helpful.
The food wasn’t great at the buffets (cold, watery nacho cheese, hot milk) but the sit down dinner restaurants were better quality. There was a ton of seaweed on the beach and in the ocean which made it difficult to enjoy the ocean. There were a ton of vendors on the beach, too many. It made it difficult to relax. The hotel should make the beach private and vendors should have to stay at the edge of the property so hotel visitors have the choice to purchase if they want instead of being harassed. There was a vendor that offered drugs to our teenage children. The pools were cloudy and had tons of debris and hair floating in them, they needed more cleaning attention.
