How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Verified reviewBeautiful hotel, with amazing pool that feels private as you can get in from your terrace. Delicious breakfast, great friendly staff. Rooms are very comfortable and spacious. They have great decoration. Pictures don't show how good the style of the hotel is. Very close to center and beach.
They charge you an extra fee that is not mentioned in Booking, so be careful with this. Only hotel in DR where we experienced this without extra fees being transparent and clear before booking. They apologized for this but didn't give the money back, nor gave anything in exchange. Also, the first night, someone started cutting grass in front of our room, waking us up at 8:30-9am. They should leave these activities for the afternoon when they are sure no one is sleeping. They did apologize for this and didn't happen again during our 3 nights stay.

Verified reviewThe hotel design is very nice. Hotel staff was friendly. Location is relatively secluded, thus very quiet and far from noisy areas. When walking towards the Malecon, you'll be at a very good spot, with the beach and restaruants nearby. Breakfast options are also very good. You will appreciate the garden and natural light when waking up.
We were charged about 15% more than the indicated Booking.com rate. This may be a problem with the Booking.com set up, but very annoying when getting there and trying to rest from a road trip. There were electricity issues at night, which caused the room lamps to reset and light on automatically. We mentioned it to the staff and hopefully they sort it out.

Verified reviewThe breakfast and pool area is very nice. The rooms are airy and high. Beds resp. mattresses are fine.
The room is not very well maintained, they are loveless and inadequately furnished. Not enough rugs and mats to dry wet feet. Not enough water in the shower. The shower heads splashed because they were not descaled. The toilet lid is loose. The sink drain did not work. On the terrace only one loungechair for two people. Too few towels. The corners of the room are dark, too few lamps. The breakfast is sparse. Staff is (mostly) smiling, but not helpful. They then did a room swap, but it wasn't much better. Whether standard or vacation rate, the standard of the room is simply not good enough for this price. Plus: An additional service fee was charged, which was not stated on booking.com. Rooms 3 and 4 are directly opposite the reception and breakfast area, terrace and bedroom (if opened) completely visible. No privacy on the terrace. Never ever again. I'm traveling a lot. This is my first absolutely negative comment on a hotel. I cannot recommend it.

Small so you can hear other people talking but didn’t find it a problem. People are respectful. The glass enclosure of the shower let water out on to the floor.

Verified reviewI loved how intimate the space was, if you're looking for a hotel that's quiet and a little off the beaten track then this is it. With only 7/8 rooms it's very private. I loved the connecting pool, wifi was brilliant, and the breakfast was always good. Friendly attentive staff, with a hotel whatsapp which helped with communicating.
One day I had to change rooms (I booked it this way), but I was told someone would be there at reception to accept my check-out key and also accept my valuables, on the day there wasn't anyone. This did make me nervous, I had to leave the hotel promptly to make a day trip, so it was a little extra stress to then have to communicate over the whatsapp about my belongings. But it worked out well in the end, they made sure my valuables were locked away from the room into their safe, and when I returned they had moved all my belongings into my new room which was great service. I just thought that could have been better communicated or better arranged the day before.

Taxes quoted on booking were different from Taxes collected upon payment at hotel, making price approx 10% higher. Pool had a lot of debris in it.
