Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesI don’t have one complaint. Seriously I can’t think of one thing they could have done to make my stay any better!!!
Very clean and comfortable beds. The staff was supreme. The wood burning stove was a very nice touch in the gathering room. In a busy area but our room was very quiet.

United StatesYou can hear the comings and the goings (mostly doors of other rooms) of other guests.
Location was great, and the taxi they arranged from the airport was good. All the restaurants around the hotel were closed when we arrived, which was a bummer because we were hungry. The included breakfast was very nice and a huge plus for us.

United StatesThe bed was a bit on the hard side for my taste.
Lovely hotel in a great neighborhood. Peaceful, quiet, and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, including a made to order omelet. They were also very accommodating, holding my luggage for a few days before my stay while I was in the Amazon. I’d definitely stay there again on a future trip to Quito.

United KingdomPeaceful hotel in a great location with lots of restaurants nearby. Cheap taxi ride into the old town. Lovely selection of items for breakfast with choice of freshly cooked egg dishes. The staff were friendly and helpful - they arranged taxis to and from the airport, stored our luggage and even got up in the middle of the night to receive our delayed luggage.

FinlandNoise travels easily through the door, when somebody is enjoying the breakfast or just chatting on the corridor. The location is a bit far of the historic centre. Cannot really walk there.

IsraelMy room was behind the kitchen and a bit claustrophobic, I recommend to ask for another one.
Great location - safe, quiet and close to many restaurants and bars. Rooms are spacious, lots of pleasent common areas in the hotel with couches, some with blankets, could sit and read or chat. Tea and coffee available all the time, nice breakfest, hotel is beautiful with sweet design.

GuatemalaThe room here was very comfortable. Bed was firm, with plenty of comfy blankets and pillows. Room was large, lots of storage for unpacking. Shower was hot, with a spacious bathroom. Good wifi throughout. Friendly and helpful staff. We arrived on a very late flight (2am) and the front desk was available to receive us. They helped us arrange taxi from the airport in advance (standard rate $15, and 35-45 minutes). Very responsive on Whatsapp if you need to contact the hotel. Delicious breakfast - simple but satisfying and high quality (egg station, cereals, yogurt, coffee, fruit, juice, and cold cuts). I really appreciate that they even had an alternative milk option. There were water filling stations from filtered jugs inside the hotel. The location was excellent - close walking to restaurants and bars, easy for taxis to find, and felt very safe. I would definitely book again!

United StatesI wish that they had provided better-quality coffee with breakfast. It was only fair. Otherwise, we were happy with our stay at Casa Aliso.
We enjoyed our stay at Casa Aliso. The room was very comfortable with plenty of space for two people with two large suitcases and backpacks. Laundry service was excellent and affordable. Wifi was great. Breakfast was tasty and I appreciated the gluten-free options they provided each morning.

United StatesThere was one morning where I needed to speak with hotel staff about storing luggage and whatnot but they were not around. Otherwise, the hotel staff were very helpful and communicative!
Beautiful building that feels more like a home than a hotel. The common areas featured plenty of natural light, books, and comfortable chairs to sit and read in. The beds and hot showers were exactly what I needed after a long day of flights. The omelets were delicious and the neighborhood is full of great restaurants. I highly recommend!

United KingdomThere was a bit of misunderstanding on the number of people we booked for (8) vs what was claimed by the receptionist (7), so were asked to pay an extra breakfast, I found the confirmation for 8 later.
The house interior decoration and architecture was amazing. We really enjoyed the breakfast, cooked at spot. All staff were very attentive and helpful, they help organising airport transfers. Also we were allowed some changes in the room type, so my mother could stay in the ground floor to avoid the stairs, thank you.

United KingdomNothing to dislike. The area is a little dull apart from its restaurants and bars, as it lacks the buzz, culture and colonial architecture of the old town, but on the flip side felt much safer to walk about at night than the old town or Mariscal areas. Was a Bit of noise late on saturday night from nextdoor sushi bar but nothing that closing the room Window didn’t solve ( this is one of the first places I didnt need ear plugs!).
This is a lovely very friendly small hotel full of charm. One of the best nights sleep I’ve had in Ecuador thanks to a very comfy bed, nice cotton linen that actually fits the bed properly (hard to find in Ecuador or seems), duvets rather than blankets, and a pretty quiet night. Good eating nearby ( including 4 or so vegan places within a few blocks) and good craft beer at Sinners cafe just a block away. Good breakfast included with eggs etc though bit limited for vegan (bread jam fruit coffee tea).
