Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesTaxis often had a hard time finding the place. Uber and inDrive were always a bit off. We finally asked the folks at reception to write down the exact address so we could have it in our phone. Not a lot of places to eat in the evening.
This is a family- run hotel and they really take pride in it. They are very service oriented and treat you like an important guest. All of the staff at reception are great English speakers and VERY helpful. They always asked if we needed anything, helped us get food or transportation when we were having difficulty. We arrived really late at night and someone was there to help us with our luggage and the room. The room was small, very clean and cozy. The en suite bathroom was also a bit small though we had enough room to shower and get dressed. They had delicious smelling chocolate soap and shampoo! The hotel is interesting and they have furniture and things that represent the City. The gym is small and on the mezzanine. They have free weights up to 25lbs., a table and a cycle so it's possible to do a light workout. The breakfast was great and the eggs were made to order. The handmade pastries were delicious and they prepared different pastries, fresh each morning. Pros: wonderful, friendly staff; wonderful breakfast; clean, cozy room Cons: room is small, gym is only good for light workout; not a lot of evening eateries nearby

South AfricaGood central location in Quito, however I was told that it is not safe walking during the night. It is recommended to take a taxi. However I didn’t feel unsafe walking during the evening.
Very well renovated facility, wooden floors and excellent staff

United StatesTV doesn't work well and has pixel issues. But it's lovely that the hotel has a Netflix account.
Very friendly staff (it is run by a lovely family); delicious breakfast; super comfy beds; clean rooms and the entire hotel. I really enjoyed my stay here. Thank you!

I would like to thank the staff for their hospitality during my trip. This boutique hotel is family run by Karolina and Daniel. They made me feel very welcome from once I checked in. I was given advice on trips, attractions and they organised taxis for me. I stayed in the room with the bath, it was amazing. The decor in this hotel is fabulous. Everything down to the finest detail is carefully chosen. The room was very spacious and clean. Thanks to the house keeping staff for an excellent job. I was celebrating when I arrived at the hotel and the box of chocolates in my room was a lovely touch and much appreciated. Finally the buffet breakfast was delicious, consisting of juices, pancakes, fruits, eggs and a selection of breads. This is an excellent hotel, if you get a chance stay here. Thanks to everyone for a wonderful stay. I will be back :)

Our stay at Dakani was wonderful! The hotel is pretty new. It is designed with intention and there are beautiful details throughout the hotel. We stayed in the room with the bathtub and it was great. The room is just as pictures. The room itself was large. The room had black out curtains so you can sleep in on your vacation :). The bathroom was clean and up to date. Plenty of hot water and good water pressure. We arrived late at night and used the hotel shuttle service. Driver was on time and professional, the owners (brother and sister pair) met us at the entrance and ensured our safety throughout our stay. The breakfast was a nice platter of fruit, pancakes, and a small serving of eggs. Everything was good, especially the juices. The value of this hotel is awesome. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends.

The staff was really kind. When I was trying to reserve a local tour on the phone, they helped me to reserve it and I could join the tour as the result. And when I skipped breakfast because I had to go out early in the morning, they prepared my lunch for free. The location is nice. There are a lot of restaurants around here. Muchas gracias!!!

United StatesWe had a little bit of trouble with the Wifi in the room which was earnesty attended to without delay. If renting a car call ahead and check on parking availability. The parking is free but from what I could tell there is not a lot of it. Uber is really affordable in the city though and we stayed parked at the hotel and used Uber for our day trips.
Hotel Dakani was an amazing experience for my family while visiting Quito. It's located in a neighorhood that is very walkable and we felt there were many great things within easy walking distance of the hotel. The staff here are extremely accomodating and excited to make your stay in Quito and surrounding area as pleasant as possible. We talked about driving down to Baños and they graciously gave a list of insider tips and must see things while we were in the area as well as contacts for the best experience possible. Our room was very comfortable and we felt that anything that we needed as attended to very quickly. The room was clean and amenities were well attended to. I'd highly recommend considering this hotel when you come to Quito. I hope you enjoy it as much as our family. The breakfast here are amazing and prepared fresh in house. They even provided us with a tasty morsel on the morning that we left before their regular breakfast hours for the airport. The croisants were sooo good that I didn't get a photo either day before we started eating them. The fresh fruit cups were delicious and featured an assortment of fruits and yogurt. Neighorhood: There is a top rated Middle Eastern restaurant less than 2 blocks away "El Árabe" highly recommend giving them a try when your in the area. 4 Blocks away is the La Mariscal Artisan Market where you can find all of your must have Ecuadorian souvenirs. This market is a great place to wander and shop amongst all of the shop keepers. The National Museum of Ecuador is just another couple of blocks beyond the market next to the Parque El Ejido a large park with art and vendors selling food and crafts.

United StatesNothing to say here. An excellent hotel experience.
The staff at the hotel were extremely responsive and helpful. My Spanish is poor and whenever I was unable to communicate to a staff person who didn't speak English, I was always helpfully directed to a staff person who could.
