Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThere was a bad smell in the bathroom that was like sewer gas coming back out into the room. Mild sewage backup into the toilet some days. I asked the host for a receipt and she took down my information it never gave me a receipt, which is unfortunate since I was traveling for work and really needed the receipt to get reimbursed. Even so, I would stay here again.
Beds very comfortable, host helped us organize a taxi at 5 AM to catch the ferry, close to great part of town and easy access to the beach. Shower was nice and hot once you got the hang of how to regulate the temp (but was difficult and sometimes got scalding hot), free drinking water provided during certain hours, WiFi worked well, AC worked well. Overall this place was way better than the previous place we were staying (Hostal Insular - horrible). Nice hammocks and outdoor space for hanging out.

BrazilSmall bathroom and the hot water was difficult to use. There was nobody at the reception most of the times. When we needed to speak with someone we had to chat on Booking. I still dont understand the extra taxes that were charged, the price was different from Booking (even after taxes) and I didnt receive any receipt from the hotel until now.
Big room and good location. The hotel was very nice making our ferry reservations to and from Isabela Island.

United KingdomDon’t rely on asking for taxis. The ferry leaves at 6am so we had booked with the receptionist the day before for early pick up and no one came. Reception locked. Plus they charge you over double what a normal taxi charges. No response to why the taxi was a no show. Book with a local taxi company
Clean, air con was great. Walking distance to everything. Laundry facilities were good came back quickly. Friendly staff

AustraliaThe shower water wasn't very warm, and when it did heat up, the warmth didn't last long. However, this is typical in the Galapagos and across South America. A few ants did make their way into our room, but that's to be expected when you're in a natural environment. Being from Australia, we're not bothered by a few bugs here and there.
The hosts were friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and spacious, and the air conditioner worked exceptionally well. The location is about a 15-20 minute walk from the port, with mini-marts, restaurants, and cafes just a short stroll away. We would definitely stay here again.

GermanyThere is quite a bit of construction going on, so it doesn't feel very cozy to hang out at the terrace (we had the roof top room) - nothing to sit outside. You can go downstairs into the garden, but since my daughter went to sleep early, I had to stay up top; otherwise I wouldn't have heard her. The fridge surely has seen better days - was rusty from the outside, but okay from the inside. WiFi didn't work for 2+ days which was especially unfortunate as I had to deal with flight bookings.
The house is in a very comfortable location, 3rd row to the beach and you're very quickly at the beach as well as at the main square. The family is very nice as well, prepared to answer your questions and open for a chat. The room is nice and bright; you can see that it has been renovated/constructed not long ago.

AustraliaA minor detail was that there were no tea/coffee making facilities. Alexandra very graciously provided us with cups, hot water and milk when we asked, but it may have been easier for everyone if we could have helped ourselves.
The four of us stayed in a four-bed room which had a private bathroom and separate entrance. The outdoor area with table, seats and hammocks was very relaxing. Alexandra and her family were very friendly and helpful. Filtered drinking water was available in the foyer. We were a short walk from the town centre and a little longer but very pleasant walk to swim and snorkel at Concha Perla

CanadaThere was a few dogs tied up across the street that barked a lot. Not the hotel’s fault but it did make it hard to sleep at times. The staff was helpful with booking things, but didn’t always provide you with all the information about what you were booking.
Comfortable and clean room in a great location in the town. Close enough to the restaurants and the beach and easy to walk or bike to all sorts of amazing sites! The staff were helpful with booking tours as well.

United StatesThe room was not ready when I arrived (but okay they told me 15 min it would be ready and it was). I had a room on the ground floor, giving directly on the entrance/pathway to the other rooms, therefore I could never open the curtains because everyone would see me, the window didn't close completely, meaning I could hear the people talking in the small garden in front of the room. I also saw two cockroaches in two nights (not surprising on the ground floor with a window that doesn't close). My stay there wasn't good, but considering the room was rather clean and the people welcoming I can expect that the other rooms might be better but don't take the room on the ground floor !!!!!
The location is nice, the people are welcoming
