Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandThe place itself is basic but fine. You can access Misahualli across the river by free continuous cable car during the day and an arranged paid canoe at night (if you can find one). At the same time, with the bridge collapsed theres nothing much accessible in the evenings. No restaurants or bars and only one very basic shop. So make sure you eat before coming back! You will need to pay more for (basic) brekkie, to rent a canoe or do a tour. The people are nice but theres no way to access the laguna and surrounds without paying for services. It's a little frustrating that they dont want you walking around the laguna on your own. So I'd suggest 1-2 nights to get a good look around the laguna and maybe move elsewhere thereafter.
Beautiful location on the Laguna. With the bridge into town gone it, feels like being out in the jungle and even walking along the road can provide interesting encounters with wildlife. Nice hammocks in the main esting area and a view our over the Laguna. Renting the canoe to go round the Laguna ($5pp) or getting a guided tour ($30) is well worth doing for the impressive range of wildlife you can see there including various monkeys, caimans, paiche, wild turkeys, many different birds and possibly snakes and turtles.

EcuadorThere weren't any tables, etc in the room to put our stuff on. It was hot one night and we didn't have a fan in the room. I didn't feel safe floating down the Napo River with a life vest. There was a lot of boat traffic and the river was very muddy.
I liked the location. It was quiet and very tropical. I enjoyed watching wildlife (mostly monkeys) from the deck. The owners were nice and the food was good.

FinlandKitchen was quite dirty with dirty dishes and old food laying around (there was no one else staying there at the time) which was a little bit annoying. Also there was some problems with lights and I had to cook in the dark.
The surroundings of the B&B is beautiful and very peaceful, you can hear the jungle to your room which I really much enjoyed. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. Shared room was spacious, clean and the bathroom was nice with warm water. You have the view to the lagoon from the terrace which was very nice. There's a monkey hanging around the garden area which was fun ad super cute. Host will take you around the lagoon with good price too. Note that you need to take a canoa from the town to reach the hostel, you cannot walk. Also there is no good market in the area so make sure to do shopping in the town. However the trip with canoa is very short.

Czech RepublicI really enjoy the location next to the lagoon and in the rainforest, as it was great to hear all the birds and monkeys when sleeping. Jungle noises were the best! Also the owners, Lesly and her husband, were very helpful, the food was delicious, and they were taking a good care of us and showing us their knowledge about rainforest. They helped us arrange tours in the jungle, swimming in Napo river and visiting indigenous community, so we were really grateful for that. Gracias por todo!

United StatesAbsolutely nothing! Maybe the best place I've ever stayed at!
It's an absolute dream! And, as an avid birder and nature enthusiast, it was everything I could have wanted and more. So many species of birds, as well as 6 species of monkeys. It is run by a wonderful Kichiwa family. One of the local guides also showed me some elusive Black-banded Crake on the property. Canoe trips around the lake revealing some hidden creatures! Very cozy, quiet, and peaceful. Great kitchen and the hammocks!

EcuadorBe prepared because it's not the typical fancy-ish hostel! You sleep with the sound of the birds, monkeys, and roosters! Everything was amazing and Leslie, the owner, is a great host! I would totally recommend, totally worth it for the price. Wish we had more time!
