Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

We struggled communicating with the owner, and I was surprised by having to pay with cash. I thought I would be able to pay by card.
The location is perfect, with cafes and restaurants all around.

As others have said the kitchen and its facilities are separate to your room but the kitchen is large and well fitted out . Also noted the shower temperature was either boiling hot or cold with no in between !
Loved the beach front position ; clean room and comfy beds. Very helpful staff/ owner . Modern decor.

We expected our room/apt.would have our own kitchen. The ad describes it as what is included in the room as it says "room features". Not a shared kitchen with all other rooms.

As I stated, the room had a King bed that was comfortable but it was short. I'm 6'2" so it didn't work for me. The room had windows but without a view you wanted to see. It had big screen TV but we couldn't use it. The little furniture that was there was made from raw pallet wood. The bathroom was worn and in need. Showers ran hot and cold. There were no free toiletries as listed. There is a common kitchen but no ice, we bought ice trays to make our own ice. I believe there are some nicer rooms in this hotel maybe toward the front of the building. This hotel is not handicap accessible.
We had a large room with many windows, a king size bed and air conditioning. The location was excellent. The hotel is across the main street from the beach and a good restaurant called the Post Office which serves excellent craft beer and is perfectly situated for exceptional sun sets.

The listing states "Refrigerator, Coffee machine, Tea/Coffee make, Microwave" which the room does not have. As well as "Free toiletries" when I've asked the owner, he told me I needed to go and buy them at the market. So for me it's deceptive advertising and to be very polite "not as described".

All perfect
DAVID! Absolute best person, he helped us so much with all the organizing of tours , in other islands too!! He even got us a small present for my girlfriend’s birthday and we got it delivered in another island!!! His place is exactly like the pictures, David is a massive value add and made our Galapagos experience really unforgettable! Thank you my friend🙏🏻

Could be clearer on expectations and reflect that in the price eg guests are expected to pay in cash upfront . No room cleaning provided during the stay. My room was noisy throughout the day and night due to a machine operating next door (when I complained the owner said nothing could be done, but on the 3rd night it seemed that this was turned off). No bathroom mat provided, soap dispenser didn’t work, shower flooded after first use. Shower thermostat was burning hot or cold. Hairdryer provided on request only. Minimal service provided, but the owner did try to help when asked. Decor overall looks nice.
No breakfast. Great location. Clean rooms.
