Amazing view of the city in the top room

Everything was great for the value and they even did our laundry, very generous.

We stayed in the newly renovated building. The room was modern, large and comfortable. A bit of a walk to the breakfast area and lobby, definitely worth it.

Minor details. The cards deactivated frequently. There were no towels at the spa.

We loved this hotel. Our hosts, Hernan and Gloria, were very nice and friendly. And they always went the extra mile to make sure that we had the best stay while we were at the hotel and in Ecuador. Hernan messaged me a couple of days before arriving in Ecuador to ensure we have a ride from the airport, so he could arrange a ride. The Hotel is located next to San Marcos Square and is within walking distance of most landmarks around the historic city center. The hotel neighborhood is just walking distance from some of the great restaurants to try, and the hotel is located in a very safe and clean neighborhood. Also, the San Francisco Metro station is just a few hundred meters away from the hotel. We enjoyed our overall stay, and we would stay at Hotel La Cierva de San Marcos if we ever visit Quito again.

There wasn't anything that we didn't like about it. If we were to make a few suggestions area that the hotel could improve is perhaps providing a mini refrigerator or a coffee maker in the room. This way, you wouldn't need to bother our hosts every time we needed coffee, or we wouldn't need to go to the 3rd floor to use the refrigerator. These are some of the minor improvements that can help guests elevate their overall stay and their experiences at the hotel. Something to keep in mind is that the hotel is cash-only. So make sure to bring some cash with you when you plan to stay and when you make the payment to the hotel.

Renovated colonial building with lots of charm. Very clean. Excellent location as a base to visit Quito, the area is safe with various restaurants nearby. Fast Wi-Fi. Staff very cordial and helpful, they organized great excursions outside Quito eg: Cotopaxi volcano. I will use this hotel again next time I visit Ecuador.

The property was so unique and one of a kind. Very Pretty!

The room was cold. Once we located a small heater, it was much better!

Hernan & wife were exceptional. It’s a small hotel with a lot of heart. I loved and appreciated how helpful they were and willing to accommodate us. We arrived late, they showed us to the closest restaurant which was delicious! Then they had a free walking tour the next days of the churches which was so fun! Lastly, Hernan woke up early to drive us to the airport for $25 USD which was a fair price considering the going rate on Uber was $23! Overall, loved my stay there & would recommend.

Solid Hotel in Quito’s Historic Center Hotel La Cierva de San Marcos is a good option for travelers. The staff were helpful and efficient in arranging transport and airport pick-up. Rooms were clean and reasonably spacious. The breakfast was good, with a fair variety of options over the three mornings we were there. The hotel’s location is definitely a strong point - situated in the historic center with easy access to restaurants and convenience stores. It provides good value for money and a comfortable stay. Would recommend for those seeking a practical accommodation in central Quito.

Some repairs and upgrades are needed. More power sockets and lighting over the bed.

We like historical buildings. Was refurbished nicely. Beds were good.

The room did have a lamp, place to put luggage, we needed to use the floor. No pictures or decorations. Very plain. Room was very small. Manager argued about needing to pay cash when the booked stated we could use a credit card.

Gloria and Hernan were very friendly hosts: They made sure I was safe during my time in Quito, helping with transfers. When I was sick the first day, I was checked upon and cared for. I was also able to leave my luggage during my travels to the Quilotoa loop.

Lovely and helpful staff. Great location, very safe. Delicious breakfast. Highly recommended!

The first room we had didn’t have wardrobe but they changed us to another one the second day. It’s a traditional old building, which is beautiful but the wooden floors are creaky, which is not great if you are a light sleeper.

My spouse and I travelled to Ecuador for the first time and this hotel gave us a perfect landing point for Quito and the start of our trip. The hotel is in a good, quiet location in the Centro Historico. The rooms are comfortable, with internet and hot water working all the time. Breakfast was tasty and different every day. Still, for us the best thing was the helpfulness of Hernan and Gloria who run the hotel. Hernan's walking tour of the centre was very nice and he organised many things for us, including a day trip to Cotopaxi at very short notice. We will be back again and would recommend to others.

Small hotel very close to old town . Breakfast is simple but plenty . The biggest asset are the owners - Gloria and Hernan . You can relay on them always! I highly recommend it!
