Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe service was excellent—everyone on the team was warm and welcoming. We had a beautiful view of Cotopaxi Mountain right from our room. Breakfast was thoughtfully arranged, with a well-balanced selection of nutritious options to start the day. I’ll definitely recommend this place to all my friends visiting Cotopaxi!

CanadaIt’s not related to the property, but something that you have to be aware of - roads are pretty challenging in Cotopaxi park even for experienced drivers. Make sure that you have an SUV or pickup truck to get there without having driving anxiety 😀luckily, rental company warned me in advance and they gave me suv. With a small car you can still get to the lodge (it’s just 2km away from the north entrance and road is more or less okay), but driving in Cotopaxi park is a challenge! Stay safe!
This was an unbelievable experience! It is a perfect getaway in Andes, very authentic place surrounded by endless mountains. Restaurant serves delicious Andean food, staff members are very friendly and helpful! It is a perfect stay for hikers and climbers who are willing to spend several days in Cotopaxi valley. The sky at night…. Unbelievable! They have a very good wifi, rooms are big and clean, hot water. Stove works perfectly well - I left it on for a couple of hours, and warmed my room for the whole night. Several blankets. All cabins have a wonderful view of the mountains. I highly recommend!!

Incredible location with incredible views from the bed. Sit and have a meal or relax with a beer and watch the hummingbirds at the window. Food was great as was the service. The room was perfect and the log burning stove lit in the early evening. I can’t fault it at all. Highly recommended. A good base for climbing volcanoes or just relaxing.

United StatesWonderful location with full view of Cotopaxi if weather permits and we were lucky. Comfortable lodge with wood fire and great beds/comforter. Great hot showers. We enjoyed the trout in the restaurant. The roads to the lodge or anywhere in the national park are full of pot holes. We took transport from locals through the hotel, amazing drivers.

United StatesThe only things the property could improve on would be to have self-service hot chocolate (or even just powdered mix) at the coffee and tea station, a water cooler to refill our bottles without having to use more plastic waterbottles, and some outdoor (Adironack-style) chairs near the children's play area to just sit and enjoy the unbelievable view. Wait staff was pleasant but overburdened, seemed too busy despite the place not being at capacity, but we were fine enjoying the view while we waited. Booking.com, however, needs to fix whatever bug is in its software that seems to steer users toward booking 2 rooms when you want 1 room (what parent would want to put 2 children under 6 in their own room?), and deletes the children from the reservation after you book. I had to contact customer service for this reservation and another for the same problem, so it's not the property but the website.
You cannot beat that view. Nicer facilities than pictured--clean and despite the traditional building design, it felt modern. Breakfast was traditional and delicious, meals were great, the woodstove kept the room incredibly cozy, sitting area was amazing, bedding and towels were good quality for a National park hotel, just loved it. The small children's playground was an excellent bonus that kept the little ones happy while the adults enjoyed the view. Staff was kind and helpful when another guest had a rude outburst (and broke a door slamming it) because a toddler in our party was crying at 4pm in the afternoon. They quickly and quietly moved him to another building, and the rest of the stay was without incident. We packed flashlights and camping lanterns expecting blackouts given the current power situation in Ecuador. I don't think we lost power when there for more than a little bit as the facility uses its own generator, but I'd recommend packing them for walking safely at night to see the incredible view of the stars. I wish we'd stayed longer than one night.

Great location, view over Cotopaxi and other volcanoes was fabulous. Lots of birds in the grounds. Fantastic room with a lovely wood fire to keep you cosy. Restaurant food was good. If driving yourself allow a lot more time to get there - we nearly did not make it before park shut due to bad roads, cows and an accident (not us) slowing things dow.

Colombiawhat bothers most again and again in Ecuador, also this hotel try to charge the IVA to short term foreign tourists, it is a stressfull and not honest way of trying to transfer the booking.com 15% charge to the hotels to the tourist clients by trying to charge 15% IVA. Short term tourist are excempt of paying 15% IVA, be honest and do honest business. It is so frustrating and stressfull to deal with this dishonest attitude! For this stressful attitude I give you only 1 point. For all the foreign tourist fight for this wrong attitude! I finally did not pay the 15% IVA.

Wonderfully helpful staff, amazing location with views of Cotopaxi, wood stove in our room that was lit for us in the evening and kept us warm all night, lovely breakfast, and other meals in their restaurant were good value and very satisfying. Several good hikes in the surrounding area.

BelgiumI found it a bit expensive but i guess they are benefiting for the fact they are in the national park. They should add drinking glasses in the rooms.
It is right in the National park with the most stunning views. There is a fire place in the room which they put on in the evening. So we were nice and cosy. Simple meal options but tasty.

United StatesOur room had an obstructed view of Cotopaxi with the sos tower out the window. There was no way to know which cabana we’d be in and I hoped we’d be in the higher up ones, but it was still nice, just had to leave the room to get a clear view.
You’re paying for the location and it really is pretty spectacular. Nice staff and breakfast was very good.
