Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IndiaHad a wonderful stay here! The owner was super communicative, and both the room & bathroom were spotless. They even packed us a decent breakfast box. The musical evening was a highlight, immersing in their culture and stories made it even more special. Truly one of the best parts of my Egypt trip!

FinlandWe felt more than welcome in here. The staff was absolutely wonderful and helpful in every way possible. The laid-back attitude and peaceful guesthouse was a refreshing oasis in the middle of our otherwise stressful journey. The genuine atmosphere and invitations to hang out with the locals made us feel home and seen as people, not just as tourists and customers. Strong recommendation. Definitely will come here again if I ever find myself in Aswan again. As a plus, the location on the west bank near the public ferry enables a more peaceful experience than staying in the city, but still an easy access for a city visit. Oh, and the breakfast was amazing, make sure not to miss it.

Wonderful staff and available all the time. The location is perfect for travelling 🧳by public ferry ⛴️ East 🔛 West. You are 😎 at the ancient Tombs with no obstruction in sight. Plenty of space at the premise. Different atmosphere and well designed ground open area( comfortable ⛺ + 🏓 table + open 🔥), or the charming upper floors(bedrooms + sitting area) or the open roof top floor. The food was 😋 and generous portions. I enjoyed the company of the staff and visiting locals and the 🎵🎶 sessions.

GermanyThere is nothing we did not like. I highly recommend this place.
From start to end we enjoyed our stay at the guesthouse. Depsite the fact we sadly booked only one night we were warmly welcomed and served a wonderful dinner (contact the guesthouse to reseve this in advance). A nice surprice was also the invitation for a Nubian coffee and music after dinner and learning more about Nubian culture. The guesthouse also offers a lot of activities including sandboarding and camel riding. It was a wonderful experience for our kids!

The family that runs the house is super hospitable and welcoming. The place is clean, in a quiet location and has a beautiful view of the Nile and Nubian tombs. Beds were comfortable and showers were hot. The rooftop was amazing for relaxing. The nightly family dinner is delicious.

United StatesIf you want to eat out, there is not much around here in the way of restaurants. So you probably should take the ferry across to the city. But the home cooked dinners here are very good.
If you are a ethnomusicologist you must stay here. If you want to experience Nubian life and music you also must stay here. Every evening after dinner the instruments come out and you are invited join in. You can listen to the traditional rhythms and melodies of the Nubian people. If you are a musician yourself you will be invited to share a song. There are guitars and frame drums to play and sometimes a keyboard. You never know who will show up on a particular evening. Sometimes guest musicians come from farther away and sometimes it is just the family. This is not a performance. It is a traditional Nubian music jam. So if you wish a laid back emersion into Nubian culture, come here. The family is beyond welcoming. You will be greeted with loving hearts and they will help you with anything you need. The location is across the Nile from the city of Aswan so you must take a ferry to get here or drive the long way around. Ferry is only 10EGP or about 20 cents.

EgyptI had a wonderful stay, it was incredibly comfortable and truly felt like I was at home. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a special touch of cozy charm throughout. One of the highlights was the fantastic music jams they hosted—such a great experience! The live sessions were full of energy, and the music itself was excellent. It really brought everyone together and added a unique, lively vibe to my stay. The hosts were also extremely helpful, going out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed. Whether it was offering local tips or just being friendly and accommodating, they made my time there even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a homey, and memorable getaway

It was an amazing experience staying in this Nubian guesthouse. Bassam the host is really welcoming, he invited us to Nubian coffee and we had great conversations learning about his culture. Breakfast that's included is great, and the access to fresh orange juice and water was another bonus. They also offer tours so you don't need to plan too much for your vacation. The location is also very good, being close to the public ferry to cross over to Aswan.

United KingdomI dunno where to start. The house is located in West Bank. We drove there from Luxor and was easy to find. It is located in a less tourist Nubian village which is really calm and relaxing. As soon you arrive you forget the stress of Luxor and East Bank and enjoy a moment of peace. The host gives you a welcome tea to set the tone. You listen the birds and enjoy the view from the Nile from the roof top. They provide you a Nubian breakfast which is slightly different from the Egyptian one. I will miss the Nubian bread! At night the host have friends around and do a Nubian coffee while playing music. The process is remarkable and tastes so different from any other coffee I ever had. The host is very welcoming and talks you through a bit of his culture. I felt so relaxed there that I wish I could have stayed more days. Everything is so clean and tidy and you feel like home. 10/10!!!!

SwitzerlandFantastic stay because of Bassam and his cousin: they are just incredible people who really enjoy sharing their home and culture. The aunt cooked amazing late-night dinner and breakfast for us, everything was super relaxed and friendly, it all felt as if it came directly from the heart. Bassam even took the time to walk us through the village and some farming land to explain the culture and way of living of the Nubian people. If you are looking for a simple but special place with special people, then this is the right place for you.
