Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

HungaryLocation was hard to find, I asked locals who could not understand English at all. Eventually I found one who phoned him, then Sa'eed turned up and led me there.
Sa'eed was nice and helpful. I had breakfast on the roof terrace, where a nice view opened to Agha Khan Mausoleum, the Botanical (Kitchener) Island and the elephant-shaped rocks along the banks. The house is on the west side of the island, while public ferry from the mainland arrives on the eastern side, from where the accommodation can be reached by a ten to fifteen minutes' walk.

ItalyGreat welcome. Saiid very relaxed and helpful. Ask him to organise an hour or two on a felucca - we did, with a lovely pilot, who was the perfect host. Very relaxed and let us have our space.

EgyptThere is only one bathroom and the shower is in there too. So when you shower everything gets wet including the toilet paper.
The area and view of the Nile is amazing. Said is a wonderful host who met us at the ferry dock and carried my suitcase to the house. Everything felt really authentic. My morning wake-up call was a friendly neighborhood donkey outside the window which was a fun twist! 😂

ItalyBathroom very small, and drain not working properly, so it would basically flood with any shower. Room was quite dark, and the fact that one of the two lamps broke immediately after we arrived didn't help. Breakfasts quality varied quite a lot, the first day was just cheese and bread, on the last day it was more pleasant with also eggs and excellent felafel. One day breakfast was more than 30 minutes late. Maybe it was a miscommunication from us, but if you have a tight schedule it can become a problem. This isn't a negative, just a warning to fellow tight schedulers: you're on an island, going anywhere requires to use the ferry, which can become a 30 minutes wait if you miss it just as it leaves. Keep a margin for everything! If you ask for the price of - well, anything the first offer will be quite ridicolously high. We didn't bother to haggle and bargain, but in the end we always were able to find alternatives at a way better price than the one offered.
The place is lovely, on the west bank of Elefantine Island, very quiet and with a wonderful view on the Nile and Kitchener Island. Room and bed ok, clean enough, cozy and with good storage space. Beautiful terrace in front of the room, where we could chill and relax and where breakfast was served. Said was smily and helpful, and his brother Hamid provided an excellent driver (thanks Hamza!) for Philae Temple and airport at what felt a correct price. Said also organized a lovely feluca ride on the Nile at sunset for us. Wifi working perfectly.

EgyptThe view of the Guest House is amazing! You can cross easily the Nile with a boat and hike the magnificent Dune you see in front of the house. You will discover a whole desert landscape behind full of old desert rocks, sand dune and a overview on all the islands and city of Aswan. It is really beautifull!! If you like walk into the desert, you will discover a very old monastery ruins lying into the desert but not far from the Nile. As well you can visit nobles' tomb, Knoum Temple or just enjoy all day long the calm and peace of the Aswan Nubian house view! Saïd, the owner of the place, was always ready to help us with anything: food, boat, visits, temples, tours, taxis... We spent 7 days in the Nubian house schiling, resting, visiting, hiking...and if we had to return somewhere in Aswan, we will return to the same place! Thank you Said to share all this moment with you and to help us with anything we need. We hope seeing you again and spend some more time in The Aswan Nubian house! 🙏🏻☀️❣️

SpainThe shared bathroom was not the best, but it was always clean. We found several small insects in the room, sometimes in the bed. We've looked them up and they were not harmful, but still, it's not the best situation.
In general it was a good stay. The terrace has an awesome view and we were welcomed warmly. Said came to pick us up at 2am with his boat to bring us to the house. The breakfast is good and abundant. The connection with the west bank is very easy, a 5 egp ferry ride with people from the village. It's a good oppottunity to meet and chat with local people.

CanadaI loved the laid back vibe of the island, with no cars and extremely friendly people. Absolutely no hassle from vendors. We felt very welcome, the room was comfortable, breakfast was good. It is a shared bathroom, which we had not noticed, but great value for the price. Owner arranged boat to take us to Nubian Village which is mainly a market but very pretty.

FrancePerfect week at the guesthouse
Said guesthouse has the best view on elephantine island. Its very quiet and super beautiful, just in front of botanical garden and Aga Khan mausoleum. In the morning you can have the breakfast on the super terrace. Said will answer all your questions very kindly. So as to go to the corniche you just have to walk a few minutes and cross the Nile for 5 pounds. It was the best place to enjoy Assouan beauty.
