Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomLocation everything was far so I couldn’t venture out but I knew this before going. One evening the dinner was served cold which was deflating as we had a long day. But other than that everything was great.
Breakfast and dinner was delicious and fresh always. If there was ever anything particular we wanted to eat, the hosts were happy to make it. The owner was always able to help and answer any questions and make arrangements for trips. Room was nice and comfortable, views were beautiful.

EgyptOur stay at Ayujidda on Heisa Island, Aswan was simply magical. This boutique lodge, with just five cozy rooms, felt like home—but in paradise! The breathtaking panoramic views of the Nile, the peaceful remoteness, and the warm hospitality made it an unforgettable experience. Everything was perfectly arranged, from airport pickup to seamless logistics. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained with daily housekeeping. A boat was always available upon request, and kayaking on the Nile was an absolute highlight. A special thanks to Reem and her team, who were always at our disposal, ensuring we had everything we needed. Their warmth and attentiveness made the stay even more special. The food was delicious, especially dinner, and the atmosphere was simple yet incredibly cozy and authentic. The kids had a blast, and all ages truly enjoyed the experience.

AustraliaAlthough we enjoyed the quieter location, it's worth noting that it does require boat trips and taxis for outings and this means coordination with a range of people and the physical ability to climb into boats or walk planks for boat access. However, we found this to be part of the adventure. At the time of our visit, the wifi connection was limited and the card machine was not working. Consequently, we purchased a local sim card and had to make a series of cash withdrawals at ATMs (with accompanying charges) to pay for all transactions with cash.
The location was peaceful and we found Ayujidda to be a beautiful escape from the crowds and sight seeing. We were able to coordinate with Tamer to arrange all of the outings that we wanted to achieve. The staff were welcoming and we greatly appreciated their generosity and kindness. The room was very comfortable with lovely river views.

CyprusThis place is located in a small island in Nile, with no car access. They send you a boat to take you from and to the mainland whenever you want, and the city is about 15-20 minutes drive away. The location is so peaceful and quiet, but a bit difficult to access and there are not much things you can do on the island. Not ideal if you want to visit the city more than once a day. Also, although after booking the communication through booking was in English, when we got there we found out that the staff do not talk much English, so we had to use google translate to communicate.
If you are looking for a relaxing place to spend a few days away from the city and people, it is perfect. You can do yoga on the veranda or just chill at the covered common sitting area. Also, the breakfast was great.

United StatesStaying at Ayujidda Nubian House with my family was an absolute delight! The owner was responsive and courteous in all communication. The location of the house is perfect for getting a glimpse of traditional Nubian life. The boat ride to the island was one of the highlights, offering beautiful and tranquil scenery. The Nubian architecture is stylish and charming, and the decor elegantly blends tradition and modernity. The bed was very comfortable, and all amenities worked well. The team prepared a delicious dinner soon after we arrived, and the housekeeper even made breakfast ready in the room for our very early flight the next day. The owner also offered the best deal for the tour to Abu Simbel. Our trip was neatly arranged and we didn't need to worry about anything. Everything went smoothly including pickup from our cruise ship, completing the day tour, drop-off at the boat dock for the island visit, and the boat ride and car drop-off at the airport the next day. We wish we had stayed longer!

FranceBe aware that Tamir - the man who organises all the tours and communicates on Booking.com is based in Cairo. There is very little English spoken at the house, we used Google Translate a lot. Everything is arranged via Tamir. The wifi isn't good at the house. We bought Voda sim cards at the airport but these didn't work on the island (although they worked everywhere else). I would like to suggest that once returning from excursions - drinks are offered and snacks available to buy. I think that this BnB has great potential.
Ayujidda House is set on a quiet island overlooking the dam. It is peaceful and relaxing. The rooms are clean and the beds comfortable. Reim, our host and cook was very good at trying to speak English. We ate both Breakfast and Dinner at the house and it was delicious. Mustaf our boat driver was excellent, always on time and was always willing to help. If you are wanting to experience traditional Nubian life this is definitely the place to book.

IndiaA few mosquitos - need to take bug spray or they will provide you some.
I booked a one night stay at Ayujidda Nubian. The owner needed to shift my room to the nearby Miskaa Nubian which was equally good if not better. We had dinner at the Ayujidda Nubian house - was surreal as it was a candle light affair next to the water under the moonlight. Getting there involves taking a car to the Heissa boat launch and a boat from there - and needs some pre-work to set it all up. But Temer, who runs the establishment, was very quick and responsive to all my messaages and made sure it was done smoothly.

United StatesThe " hotel" should have been listed as on an island with no dock. The only access was thru a motorboat with no lights in the middle of the night. They should make clear this hotel is not accessible by boat. No WiFi. No AC.

AustraliaI stayed here for 3 nights with my wife and my son in October and overall we will not stay here again. The room was very clean and that was the highlight. The people were nice but no one spoke English so we felt very very helpless at times when we really needed something. There was one girl who knew very little English and we mostly interacted with her. There are no shops on the island if you wish to buy food or medicine or anything else. We opted to have dinner here on our first night and there was no menu or option given to us, we told them we are vegetarian and they served us a couple of dishes and Nubian bread and rice and salad. They could not explain what dish we were eating and we just ate salad and rice as we did not like the taste of the dish they served. Which we found out on the day of check out that it was EGP 600 for that dinner !! We had nowhere to go to eat anything so for the next 2 nights we bought bread and peanut butter and ate that in our room. The next night the girl did try to ask us what we want to eat but we did not know the names of any Nubian dishes and she couldn’t understand anything we said. She was nice but we were very frustrated because no one could understand us. The owner had already informed us before we reached that he will be off the grid when we are staying there. On the morning we were leaving, we needed a boat which they arrange for you at 5 am as we had a 7 am flight to catch to Turkey. At 5 am there was no boat and the whole family who was managing the place was asleep. We knocked several time and no one opened, we then knocked and banged all their doors and windows from all directions and finally one of them woke up and called the English speaking lady. She then called the boat guy and informed us that it will come in 10 minutes. And while we waited on the bank of the river, she went back in. We were alone in the dark hoping a boat will appear. She just left us alone there and went back to sleep.
Very clean

HungaryThe house is located on a remote island just behind a dam. While the room was good, the journey between the shore and the island was quite challenging. The boat is operated by a teenager, and it often runs late. The house is essentially a family's home. They do not speak any English, so communication with the owner is only possible through WhatsApp. I would advise avoiding this property unless you are seeking a very disconnected and isolated experience. It is not suitable for those who wish to explore the city or nearby attractions.
The rooms were modern and well equipped.

ChinaOn February 18th, 2024, I stayed at Ayujidda Nubian House Hotel in Aswan. When I took the boat provided by the hotel, I twist my feet and broke the bones because of slippery ground. I spent about 4000 EGP on treatment in the local hospital. The hotel only eliminate the expenses of meal and arrival about 1600 EGP, and refused to show up and answer the phone when checking out. After returning to China, continued treatment have already cost about 1,000 RMB, and I can not go to work for a month. The cost of missing work was relatively high. After contacting the booking, the hotel still refused to compensate any part of medical expenses and lost wages. If the hotel can not give a satisfying reply, I will continue to take legal action to defend rights.

United StatesIf we stayed longer!
EVERYTHING was simply perfect! The food was the BEST we had in Egypt. The rooms are beautiful, comfortable, clean, and eco friendly which we love! The service and hospitality far surpasses any 5 star hotel. Tamir proactively arranged our airport transfer, a romantic sunset dinner along the Nile, and even accommodated an extended stay for us all before we even left the USA. We would have stayed longer if our trip allowed, we loved Ayujidda so much. This must not be missed!
