How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewIt’s location. It overlooks part of the city.
Poorly built. The design is really bad. Old/damaged furnitures. The walk-in shower/bathroom has no extraction fan. If you have diarrhoea or need to poop, then the whole room will smell. The bathroom door is a wooden one that’s poorly built. Can’t be closed properly. Plus, there is an unpleasant smell in the hall way or somewhere, can’t tell where that is from, may be they have used incense sticks or cleaning products with wired fragrance. The air conditioner has a moulded smell. The shared dorm looks like a storage room. Breakfast contains a boiled egg, a plain sandwich wrap(brioche), butter, and instant coffee/tea bag. Don’t even want to take pictures as I don’t want my phone to store horrible images.

Verified reviewIt’s a nice hostel little place, exceptional clean for Egyptian standard! Mattress was too soft. Liked · I liked the staff especially the kind manager! Big rooms, big place to walk around, nice view, nice little hangout area, breakfast was nice. Cheap acco good value!
Disliked · The mattress hurts my back a lot! It was super hot for me so I’m middle of the night I had to leave cause I was just sweating. I told the night manager , no reaction. Next day I told this the manager and she said there is actually aircon 🥶 When I arrived 5am in the morning I didn’t have any booking. So I still got charged by the property 500egp in cash for whole day, what made me feel unappreciated for a super short night. Nothing that can’t be fixed! I come back :)
Thank you for your feedback🌷 We’re glad you enjoyed our staff, breakfast, and spacious rooms. Sorry about the mattress and room temperature. we’ll work on improving this and making our air-conditioning clearer to guests. Regarding the early check-in, the extra charge is part of our policy, but we’ll make sure to explain it better next time. We’re happy you’d like to return and look forward to welcoming you again 🫰

Verified reviewThe staff were really friendly.
It is an old building so there were lots of bare wires / holes in walls etc. It was cheap so we can't complain as you get what you pay for. The lift on the way up scared our boys more than anything as it was very rickety 😬
Thank you for your feedback🌷We understand your comments about the building and lift being in a historic building have their challenges, but we’re always working to improve. We hope to welcome you again for an even better stay.

Verified reviewThe location is good and even if the place looks shady (including the building and the elevator ride) after exploring the city, i believe this neighbourhood is generally safe. There was 24-h staff that were generally ok.
Everything was old/ worn off (passably clean but too worn off to feel clean) and the room felt like a room in a private larger apartment. I was texting the staff in advance asking for advice for booking tours to Giza pyramids but did not get a reply. I don’t mind much the noise but there was zero noice isolation and it is on a really busy interesection with beeping 24/7. One of the evenings there was a kid crying and running around for some time around midnight (not sure if it was another guest). The breakfast was just an omelette and bread.

Verified reviewExcellent location, also the rooms are on the 16th so the noise from the street can be tolerated much better than in other hotels. In general I'd say its a very good value for money option. Staff is also super helpful.
Walls could use a bit of repainting.

Verified reviewGreat location and since it's on the 15th floor you can get a view of the downtown cairo and nile river. Friendly, welcoming staff. Reached there early in the morning. Was thinking of staying in the lobby until check in but they prepared the room for us early and we checked in at 7 am. Was grateful for that after a long flight. Included breakfast was decent.
The room could have been a bit cleaner..

Noise - Room is poorly insulated so we could really hear the noise from the streets.

Verified reviewThe staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful, which made the stay pleasant. The rooms were below my expectations in terms of comfort and condition, but for the price, it was okay. Good service overall, just a bit of room for improvement on the accommodations.

Verified reviewI didn't like it at all. They're scammers with kind faces and gestures. But they trick you and charge you your card. Then they tell you the payment has been canceled, and finally they make you pay in cash. Before you know it, you've already paid twice. On top of that, they paid terrible service, with a shower that makes the toilet wet, dirty sheets with stains, and pillowcases that smell like hair and aren't washed. The experience was horrible. We booked two nights, but in the end, we only stayed one. And they didn't refund us for the two charges or for the night we ended up not staying.

Verified reviewNot as expected. It doesn't deserve this high rating. 1/ I booked it with a cot. They have no cot 2/ 16th floor, the lift goes until the 15th floor, and you need to continue on foot. Not convenient with a stroller 3/ I asked for an early check-in (between 3h00 and 4h00) as the arrival time of my flight is at 2h00. The owner accepted the condition of the available room. Whoever when we arrived, they asked us to pay an extra night at a price already higher than the proposed price on booking.com 4) Very limited breakfast (one egg, one piece of bread, one jam, one butter, one cheese). I asked the first day for an extra egg for my baby, and the owner/responsible person told me that normally it's one egg/person! I decided to have breakfast outside the next day. 5/ The overall status of the room, furniture, bathroom... is very old and not well maintained

Verified reviewJust a heads-up: this is actually a hostel, not a hotel, which is important to know before booking. That said, our stay was pretty good overall! The location is great - right in the heart of downtown, so everything is easily accessible. The place was decently clean, and the staff were super friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We also had a nice city view from the balcony, which was a bonus. With the weather hitting 36°C when we arrived, we were really grateful the AC worked perfectly!
The Wi-Fi was a bit unstable at times, which can be frustrating. Also, finding the entrance was a little confusing - it’s tucked away and located on the 16th floor of the building, so we had to ask around to figure it out.
