How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewA perfect location and view right next to the pyramids and grand sphinx, about 15 minutes walk away. Very nice hotel well run by Sameh and family. Sameh also arranges a very affordable car and driver for private excursions, which is much better than dealing with the not so honest Uber drivers. I am returning there in a few days after staying in Luxor.
Nothing
A thousand thanks, sir. I was really happy to know you and the visit was repeated many more times. From here, many thanks to you.

Verified reviewThe apartment itself was lovely — clean, well-equipped, and comfortable. However, the surrounding area wasn’t the nicest, though it was very convenient for visiting the pyramids, which was a big advantage. The host was extremely attentive and genuinely wanted us to feel comfortable, which we appreciated. He checked in frequently and made sure everything was okay during our stay.
That said, he was a bit too intense about asking us to leave a review. Even after the trip, he kept sending messages insisting that we rate the place, which felt a little too much. Overall, a pleasant stay with a caring (and very eager) host.

Verified reviewEverything was amazing and beyond imagination, starting with Mr Sameh the owner and the unmatched view and proximity to the Pyramids ! you can't be any closer to the Pyramids than that ! In Egypt this is definitely the place to go ! We just love it . The place is very cozy and has warm vibes ! Our room has the view of the Pyramids. The rooftop seating area with the Pyramids view in the morning and at night are out of this world !
Absolutely nothing
A thousand thanks to you, sir. I was happy to meet you and to greet your husband. I hope to repeat it again. My best regards.

Verified reviewLocation in Giza in a quiet street was good, with a spacious, comfortable room and bathroom. You could hear prayers and music sometimes from a nearby mosque, but it wasn't really a problem. The hotel was also near to some pyramids - walking distance. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful, as were the locals we met (though most locals understandably didn't speak English). Children played in the streets. The rooftop where meals were eaten was marvellous - we had a magical, close up view of one of the pyramids. A cool breeze there in the evening was very welcome. Breakfast was included in the price of accommodation. Other meals, if requested, were ordered by the hotel from local neighbourhood eateries (which cost next to nothing for locals) but were given a big markup for guests. The meals served were dearer than meals in Australia and poorer quality.
The additional costs for tours added up to quite a lot of money, as you couldn't get to places without a car and driver. (Don't try to hire a car and drive yourself in Cairo or Giza - the traffic on the great network of freeways is fast and furious, with lots of sudden lane changes by locals in a hurry, and it would be very difficult for foreigners to drive around safely there.)
A thousand thanks, sir, for your kindness. I will leave you with your knowledge, and I hope the corn will be repeated again. I mentioned the food, which is meat food, and the team costs $12. Others are not expensive, by the way.

Verified reviewI loved the pyramids view from the rooftop terrace and the proximity to the location (10 mins walk to the entrance). The room was clean enough and there was everything i needed. The local neigbourhood didn't bother me, it's quite safe and the people are friendly.
1. The wifi almost didn't work, so you have to rely on your mob data if you choose this hotel. 2. Uber drivers can't find the location, so you have to track it on google maps yourself and advise them. And if you order uber from that place, many drivers decline the ride and I had to go myself to find the driver because he got lost in the maze of streets. 3. There is no sign with the hotel name, it looks as a private property from the outside, I had to check the pictures on google maps to identify it, though i was standing in front of it. Same problem if you order tours with some companies 4. I wish they had more breakfast options, it's always the same and very basic, if you stay for several days
First of all, a thousand thanks to you, and I am very happy to know you. I hope that Zarar will be repeated again, but for Uber, even if you tell him about any place in Egypt, he will tell you that he does not know. This is one thing. Another thing, if you would like...

Verified reviewWe stayed at the Energy of pryramit hotel for three days. Sameh is a legendary man. He is very funny, helpful and friendly. We didn't have any problems. We felt like we were guests of our friend, not in a hotel. Everything was very nice. On the day our tour started early, he prepared fruit salad for us in the morning even though it was not compulsory. Thank you so much for everything. Before I forget, his niece Sheela is very sweet and friendly. We sang Turkish and Arabic songs and had fun together. It was a week to remember.
A thousand thanks to you my friend. I was really happy to know you and your friend, and I hope to visit again. My niece is very happy and sad at the same time that you are leaving, and we hope to visit again in a longer period, God willing. And you

Verified reviewThe hotel is nice, clean and well maintained. It is really in a walking distance from the pyramids and the Sphinx. From the room window and from the terrace also you can see the pyramids. The landlord is very friendly, helpful and caring. I can recommend this hotel and if I come to Cairo next time, I would definitely visit this hotel again.

The location of the hotel... The pyramids are quite close, but the area is full of ruind buildings, stray dogs It is not for europeans.
A thousand thanks to you my friend, I am happy to know you and I hope the button is repeated, but sir, I have nothing to do with the street, I cannot adjust anything in the street, but in general I am honored to have you and I hope

Verified reviewIt is really a hidden gem. From the hotel tarrace you have an amazing view of the Pyramids. Moreover the neighborhood is very quiet at night, and you are only around the corner from the plateau. But the best of the best about this place is very attentive staff. Owner will do anything to help you out we had to check yin late, check out in the middle of thr night and yet he was always there to help.
Neighborhood might seem a bit intimidating after dark but if you give it a chance it has its charm.
A thousand thanks, sir. We were really happy to meet you and we hope to visit again. My best regards.

Verified reviewThis family run hotel is a hidden treasure. The rooms are new and practically furnished. Mine had direct pyramid view. But the highlight is the spacious terrace close to the Great Pyramyde for having breakfast or relaxing in the beautiful, local Bedouin seating area. Simply great. The charismatic owner Sameh also has all the tips and hints for the best experiences in and around Cairo.
A thousand thanks, sir. We really helped you and we hope to visit you again.

Verified reviewThe view on the pyramids straight from the room. The rooftop has an increduble sight. The staff is very friendly.
I have a good feeling with this hotel and the staff but i was obliged to make a review under the pressure of the owner which is not fair.
A thousand thanks, sir. We are very Saudi, as far as I know, but this is a request from you, not a pressure or anything. Thank you.
