How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe staff are fantastic. They're very sweet and helpful people. The inside of the apartment is nice and clean. We enjoyed the pyramid view and watching the world go by from the balcony
As two female travellers I think it's worth mentioning the location. We enjoyed that it was an authentic local area and we felt very safe, however being two women stepping out onto the street without a man was uncomfortable. A lot of men would stop and shout at us and approach us in the street, which was more than in any other parts of town. We learnt quickly to order Ubers inside the building and wait inside until the driver arrives and then walk out to get directly in the car. For us we didn't enjoy that part of the location. It felt safe, just uncomfortable. That's no fault of the guesthouse but we feel women should be aware of this when booking so that they can decide if it's for them.
Hi, Thank you for your stay and for your review. We have a lot, a lot of female travelers, foreigners and egyptian and there have never been any problem in the street from 6 years. All the neighbors from our building and from the other buildings in our small street know the owner of the guest house and are very helpful with the tourists. We tried to investigate. We asked to the security families if they are aware about something. They said no. We don't know which day and at what time you had a problem in the street. I think that you saw the cameras in the entrance of the building, outside in front of the building and in all the street. So nobody is stupid to make a problem when we can watch the video. We save the video 7 days so it's too late to find any information. Everybody knows each other in the street. I really don't understand why you didn't talk to us. We could help you. Keep the problem for you and wait the review to talk doesn't fix anything. It's probably a misunderstood. Anyway we'll never know... Best regards

Verified reviewGreat accommodation and a perfect location and view of the Giza pyramids from the balconies. The surrounding area is safe and a nearby marketplace ensures that you can buy some fresh fruits and vegetables or stop at a cafe without any trouble. The host and all of the staff were very welcoming and helpful, as well as providing inexpensive opportunities to see the surrounding areas and sites. The included breakfast was also very good. I am certain I will return here someday in the future.
Everything met or surpassed my expectations. Showers were a little tight for a tall guy like myself, but I managed to make it work.

Verified reviewHighly recommended! It was hard to find a good accomodation in Giza. A lot of others look they have fake reviews. This guesthouse surprised us and exceeded our expectations (already got used to Egyptian standards). It's really clean, comfortable and the view from the common balcony is amazing. It's not in the first row to the pyramids but you have a great view to them. You can go by walk or take a tuktuk there. Local restaurants and shops are around. The staff is nice, one of them is French woman speaking fluent English and we had a very nice talk every morning during the breakfast. I think it's she who sets more over European standards of cleanless in this guesthouse. The breakfast is also very nice. If you need, they can arrange you trips you want (we didn't use, just the option is there).
Hi, Thank you so much for your stay and for your review. It was nice to talk with you about travelling and other subjects. Anytime you're welcome. Kind regards

Verified reviewIsis Guest House welcomed me when I arrived a little earlier in the morning. I must say that the place is impeccable in terms of cleanliness, with super comfortable beds, a nice and spacious common area, and best of all, the most amazing views of the pyramids, either from the balcony or the rooftop. The surroundings are very safe, in a local neighborhood, and access to the building is also very secure. You can reach the pyramids area in just less than 20 minutes on foot. Although I only spent one night, the time I shared with the staff learning about Egypt and the culture was priceless. Thank you for everything... Can't wait to go back :)
Hi, Thank you so much for your stay and for your review. I'm sorry for the late reply. Anytime you're welcome. Best regards

Verified reviewThe view from the main balcony, where you can see from the distance the 3 Pyramids were amazing. You get a free welcome drink on your arrival, which is a cup of Egyptian tea; after that you have to pay for any extra hot drink, or bring your own. Although Ahmed offered me free tea sometimes.
-The internet only reaches around reception and the lounge which was very frustrating. You might get some weak signal in a few rooms -location was a bit dodgy to get to the accommodation, and it’s about 18 to 20 minutes walk to the pyramids, so it’s walkable -The room was very simple, with a tiny window on the top corner overbooking electrical cables and unfinished buildings from the area. So you don’t get to enjoy any pleasant view or day light, so I found it very depressing. Internet was super weak in the room and you can hear all the other guests and the staff from the room
Hi, You booked 4 times on Booking day after day so you know the place where you book. You booked with us beginning of december. Yes the welcome drink is an egyptian tea and we have a menu for food and drink. You are free to bring your food and drink. Yes the staff was too much kind with you. Ahmed shared also his food with you and we accepted to give you your breakfast after the breakfast time and to your room. All the rooms, list of facilities, pictures of room with windows and bathroom, measurements are on Booking and you booked a single room then a pyramids view room so you know that we have different categories of room. Internet is weak in 2 rooms downstairs from the distance to the box. I was in a 3 stars hotel in Luxor and we didn't have internet in the rooms. Internet isn't the best in Egypt. It's like that and the 4G is cheap. If you need a good soundproofing you have to go to an hotel which is built to be an hotel, not in a guest house. Best regards Best regards

Verified reviewThe view was good
When we arrived there was no internet, there was a lot of noise outside we couldn’t even sleep. One day there was no water. We scheduled breakfast for 7am cause we needed to leave and they started to make the breakfast at 7.15. Our toilet had a broken seat.
Hi, When you arrived you had a free breakfast for 4 people and you had a free early checkin. The city is noisy, all the city is like that. Sometimes the wifi doesn't work, we aren't in Irland where probably the infrastructures are better. We are in Giza, Cairo and it's like that. If you want the same standard than in Europe you have to go to the red sea, new cities from 80 years old for tourists or you have to go to an hotel. For example 4, 5 stars hotels are built 1 km from the streets, good soundproofing, good wifi, probably breakfast on time. If you book any guest house 20 dollars per night it will be like us. It is the local life. The seat of your toilet isn't broke, we just have to change a screw. The second day of your stay, beginning of evening we stop the water because the plumber had to work and I said to you that we needed half an hour but 10mn after the water was working. I asked to Youssef about your breakfast, he doesn't remember. He had to provide 13 breakfast this day so I don't know. I can add that you didn't go to the airport or the railway station so if you are very strict about 15mn it's better to go to an hotel. 5 people work here for 9 rooms, they work 12 hours per day and they do their best. Regards

Verified reviewGreat view of the pyramids from the terrace and room. Very quiet location, although only about 1.5 km on foot from the main entrance to the pyramids, it is not a touristy area. We were able to stroll through the streets in peace and enjoy our drinks in normal cafés at normal prices. And we really liked it there.

• It’s not very close to the Pyramids like it looks in the pictures (25 minutes by walk) • Breakfast timetable is very short (7am-9am) not possible when your fly arrives at 5am and you need to sleep.
