Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CroatiaThe ac didn’t work which was very difficult since it was 43 degrees that day. Kitchen and fridge were questionable.
It was a nice location and I liked the Bob Marley place for dinner and breakfast in the morning.

ArubaThey make all the efforts for you to feel comfortable, they arrange tours and provide breakfast and someone to go with you to the ferry if you are going 430am to Abu Simbel. The only thing that you should make sure is ask all the pertinent questions to the owner via WhatsApp. I found the people at the next door property (where they serve breakfast and have the washing machine) are not always well informed or so kind as the owner. He really is a very very caring human being.

IndiaWe (me and another lady from the same hotel) took an Abu Simbel trip arranged by the hotel and they charged us USD 30 for it, whereas others on the same trip were charged USD 20pp only. If the hotel person charged us a high price intentionally, then it's not good for their future reputation.
The staff was humble and ready for help. They even allowed me to come late at night to the place. I was there for 3 days and everyday the breakfast was different and tasty.

PortugalNo toilet paper and the shower is really small without a dedicated space, but is as shown on the pictures.
We stayed here for three nights. The guest house is in the elephantine island, so you have to take the public ferry boat to cross (wich is just 10 pounds for person) and is a 2 min walk from the guest house. The island is very nice and the boat cross to, so staying there was a plus. The room is simple but clean and confortable and the breakfast was taken in the Bob Marley restaurant.

GermanyThe room is very small. Just a bed and a chair. No way to hang up towels for drying. The rooftop is easily reachable but is not very inviting. We didn't use the rooftop much. The shared kitchen is not very clean. You can hear you neighbours talking.
Clean room. The bed is comfy. The location can easily be reached by foot. You simply take the ferry at the KFC and from there you can walk to the location. Mohammed did respond very quickly to messages. There was a problem with the light and the shower head in the shower, but Mohammed helped to quickly resolve both issues. The WiFi was very good and easy to connect to. Price per value is very good. Overall thank you Mohammed for the pleasant stay :)

NetherlandsThe guesthouses on the banks, especially those on the west side of the island offer stunning views on the Nile. Kayak guesthouse is situated more inland, the shielded windows offer no views.
Elephantine Island has a lot of guesthouses, new and long standing. Kayan is one of the newer places, still in the proces of building more rooms. It's friendly, it's small, and at less than 10€ a day including breakfast it's a bargain. Very nice bed, bathroom pretty small but okay, cozy little room. Right next to the well known Bob Marley's, but when google maps tells you it's on the right side it's actually on the left side.

AustraliaIf people are leaving early or getting in late, you will hear them (not the properties fault). For some reason google maps thinks this property is Bob Marley Guesthouse (30 metres away) so had a bit of trouble finding it (but that’s probably my fault!)
I had the room with only a fan / no AC. In November you don’t need AC it’s cool enough with the fan. For the price I paid this room was the BEST VALUE I have ever had traveling. The women that work / clean the place are lovely!

GhanaI didn't like that there was no internet. I had to get my own internet connection, but at the price of the rooms, it's understandable.
I loved, loved, loooooved everything about my stay. The room and bed was comfortable. The washroom was clean. There was hot water flowing from the shower. There was tissue in the washroom (toilet). The staff are so helpful and nice too. In fact, I will definitely recommend Kayan Guest House. It's no wonder they have such a good rating.

United KingdomThe bathroom is a bit over-small - you have to shower sitting on the toilet, basically. WIFI access could have been better. A heavy suitcase on wheels was a bit of a liability getting down the dirt lanes to the hotel, but help came to hand! Really, for the price, was fine, and v pleasantly hippie/quirky.
This is the annex to the Bob Marley guest house. It doesn't look like much yet (half built) - but the inside it is perfectly comfortable. The WIFI eventually worked fine. And you're just next door to Bob Marley. A rather long climb takes you up to the roof terrace, where there's a nice breezy view over the Nile to Aswan town. And nice food and cold beer. My friend said the chicken curry was the best thing he'd had in Egypt (and that after a 5* Nile Cruise). Elephantine Island is a taste of a Nubian village - dirt tracks winding through houses of very different types from traditional to modern, and past small farming plots. Don't miss the archaeological site on the south end of the island. Hotel staff very helpful getting us a taxi to Abu Simbel, and ensured we had water taxis over to town when we needed them, incl 4.45 am!

EgyptNothing, the only thing is that there is no staff to ask any service, the good thing is that the island’s people are really very kind and welcoming, willing to help guests in anything.
Very cozy place, it’s just a 3 room apartment where I was the only customer during my stay, clean room with a shared kitchen.
