Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IrelandNothing I can say that I disliked about this place ....... it was a real brilliant experience.....
If you want to stay in a very unique place and area, this is it....... with the very short ferry ride across the Nile, its something very different to where you'll have stayed in the past.......host , Gamal and his family are really great people....... and the breakfast in the rooftop in the morning s....... incredible.

Clean and Gamal was a great host and very helpful. Close to the crossing ferry, a short walk to the shore and other restaurants like King of Jamaica and El Ameen

MalaysiaIf you are looking for an experience living among the locals, this is the ideal place. The owner was helpful in organising trips at a reasonable price and assisted in arranging for the ferry for us early in the morning when we need to go to Abu Simbel. The dinner that we had at the place on the roof top was excellent. The fried fish was especially good.

United StatesThere is noway you can navigate to this place all alone. There is no proper road to it, just a sandy unpaved walk way which is not clean and has lot of construction work materials on it, from all the construction around the area. Though it's not something the host can fix, do be aware on what to expect. It wasn't clear to us initially that the island has no road connectivity and that we must take a public boat to reach it.
A nice way to experience the island culture. Our host was very helpful in accompanying us to the hotel, handling the luggage and showing us around the place when we were looking for a dinner place. The breakfast was good esp the coffee. We were there for just one night.

United KingdomThe lock on the bathroom door was extremely stiff - I was a bit worried about getting stuck in there! But everything else was good.
The guest house was very clean and neat and we received a warm welcome. There was a great view from the roof. It was practical and I'm sorry we only stayed a short time as I would have liked to spend more time there and try the food!

United StatesA little hard to find at first. The sign is painted on the top of the building so I walked by it at first. And it was chilly in the room in February - but with an extra blanket to snuggle under it was perfect!
Great location! Beautiful location and view from the roof. Nearby cafe and an easy walk from the ferry (once you figured out where the place was). Breakfast was excellent and very filling. Mr. Jamal had great recommendations on places to go and offered assistance. I had dinner at the guest house one night and it was really tasty. Highly recommend!

Jamaal and Fatimah were wonderful!!! They had breakfast for us every morning, including two mornings when we left early, they provided a boxed breakfast for us to take. Everything was very clean! Jamaal graciously made two calls for us to arrange early ferry and taxi rides so we could get to the airport early.

Perulocation is not convinient for travelers with medium/big lagguage. the guest house is in elephantine island, so ferry is needed. there is no pavement road from the ferry stop to the guest house so the wheels stuck on the sand.

EgyptYou get no view like we saw in the pictures but we didn’t spend much time in the room so wasn’t a big deal later.
The guest house is on an island which you can reach with a public ferry. They sent someone to show us the road and helped with the bags. The room was very clean and the bathroom too which was the most important part tbh.

ItalyOne room and common parts are without air conditioning, which is crazy in Aswan in summer (we got 45°C). A/C in our room stopped working two times in the afternoon for hours due to lack of power on the island. The neighbours are very dirty, with garbage everywhere. People on the island are friendly but then try to scam you into giving money. Trips to Kom Ombo and Edfu was way overpriced as the one proposed to us (and declined) for Philae Temple. Felucca sailing was cancelled for wind (!) while everyone one else on Nile was enjoying it. We saw staff trying hard, but they simply disappointed us in many ways.
The host was always available for any problem or request. Since we were the only guest in the accommodation, we had the only room with air conditioning of the floor.

PortugalJamal was an incredible host, very kind and attentive. The rooms were in great quality. Through him, we were able to book a lot of local tours (eg: Philae temple, Nubian village) at better prices than those we had found online. His family also makes some great lunch and dinner!

CanadaNo soap, no shampoo, wifi was not good, we arrived and the power wasn’t working. We had power failures 3 days out of 4 and they lasted about 1-2 hours. They didn’t clean the room once and we had to go to the reception to ask for new towels. The shower is verrrryyy small and the curtains are to big so the whole bathroom gets wet..
Ok place to stay but kinda annoying to have to cross and pay each time. The price to cross varies according to the mood of the boat driver…

The Owner, Mr. Gamal, is suh a wonderful man, they hosted us like family members. They acted on a very short notice, 1 HOUR, and we found the room clean and spotless. The room is very comfy, the Wi-Fi is fast and efficient, the roof is amazing night and day, and we had the most amazing nubian breakfast from auntie Mrs. Gamal. What and amazing experience.
