Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

EgyptThere’s a nice variety of lighting options, which is great, but it would be even better if there was a switch to turn on just one small light for those who prefer a very dim atmosphere
Hidden Gem Next to the Pyramids I stayed in Room 101 and honestly, it was perfect. It was spotless, cool, and ready the moment I arrived. The cleanliness is better than many five-star hotels I’ve been to. The mattress was incredibly comfortable, giving me a perfect night’s sleep. The reception team, especially Talha, John, and Sandy, were always smiling and helpful. Breakfast came to my room every morning just as I asked, fresh with juice. Dinner at the rooftop restaurant was delicious with an amazing view of the Pyramids. And honestly, it was the best cup of coffee I’ve ever had in my life. The location is lively, surrounded by restaurants and services, and the street is very clean. The interior décor is tasteful and cozy, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel instantly at home. When I saw all the positive reviews on Booking.com, I felt the need to verify them myself, as I tend to be critical even of the smallest flaws — yet this stay exceeded all my expectations. Special thanks to the person behind this success, Mr. Islam, a truly world-class general manager who runs this place with genuine professionalism – better than some big hotel brands. For the service and quality you get, the price is unbelievable. Every time I’m in Giza, I’ll stay here again without thinking twice.

United StatesNothing really, I just wish they offer attractions at the same price as other providers. I had to spend some time online to get the attractions for at a good rate.
No issues at all, from the wonderful staff to the great location and the delicious breakfast. Rooms are air conditioned with Wifi as promised. Shower is good, but I suggest bringing your slippers if you don't want to be standing by the toilet seat. It has no tub. Water covers the whole bathroom floor.

Germany- Before we arrived, we accepted their offer to organize each day for us with a private guide, transportation, tickets, lunch, and everything else. We agreed on a single price (and the price was very high in my opinion, but we paid because we wanted everything to be organized, so we wouldn’t waste time and could have peace of mind) and were told that it was all-inclusive and that we wouldn’t have to pay anything extra. However, when we arrived at the hotel, we were unpleasantly surprised when we were told that we would have to pay additionally for entering inside the pyramids and for camel rides. We even had to pay for drinks during lunch — imagine, they only covered the food, but not the drinks. I mean, who eats without drinking anything? In the end, after a lot of discussion and convincing, Islam (the man from the reception who organized everything for us) agreed to pay for the entrance into the pyramid and the camel rides, but he refused to pay for the drinks during lunch each day. This was a breach of our agreement because all-inclusive means all inclusive, and he even wrote in a message, "you don’t have to pay anything else." It was his mistake for not being clear, and he should have covered everything and respected our agreement. - Breakfast at the hotel is very bad. The food is not fresh, it’s not tasty, and there isn’t enough of it for an adult to have a proper meal. Also, the breakfast was the same every day. My honest advice is not to take breakfast at the hotel, as there are plenty of places nearby where you can buy food.
- The hotel staff is very friendly. - The location is right next to the pyramids, and the view from the terrace is beautiful. - Milkshakes and smoothies are delicious.

United StatesOur driver, Abdo, was spectacular! Islam was very accommodating, and answered all our questions promptly and arranged our tours (the transportation may cost a little more, but Uber/ driving in Egypt is not for the faint of heart). Upon arrival, we were concerned about the community and location of Locanda (more like a Bed and breakfast, rather than a hotel). However, we wouldn't have gotten this authentic Egyptian experience if we opted to go to the Hiltons. The facility was clean and has helpful staff. The food wasn't bad but it was always cold. The rooms were comfy but we didn't like that there was no partition for the shower /toilet bowl. Islam changed us to another room which has a good bathroom layout. We didn't spend much time at Locanda (as ours days/ nights were packed with tours). The driver they recommended (Abdo) carried us around local stops and on most of our excursions. He's an excellent photographer and we felt safe with him (our little big brother). Yes, we recommend staying at Locanda! It's walking distance to the pyramids, budget friendly and allows you to spend more on local experiences). PS.. Egypt was cold in February (12° C) ....Just a thought for all who think going to the desert is always hot).
