How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Verified reviewGreat location, the property was spacious, very comfy bed, the owner even dropped off some washing powder for me to do my laundry, even offered to take me out to some spots in Sharm. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. The apartment is clean and has aircon. Nets over the windows too to stop the bugs. Towels and extra sheets to change. 5 star all round. Thank you!

Verified reviewThe flat is excellent located. The house is big and very comfortable. The internet works very well. There is a big TV with channels in English which was great as some others cable suppliers only have Arabic channels. There is an air conditioner but I haven't used it as I travelled in winter but it has no heating unfortunately. There is public transportation 100 meters away from the house that takes you anywhere in a blink of an eye. The public beach is about 20 minutes walking. I haven't seen the pool in the complex to be honest. Mostafa was very helpful, he picked me up from the airport and took me to the supermarket to get water and some other supplies. He also provided good guidance about the city! The kitchen had plenty of utensils although an oven tray would be helpful.
The cleaning was not good. The bed/bedding and the sofa were not clean. The bed mattress needs a cover as well to feel safe against bugs. The hairdryer didn't work.

Verified reviewIf you want to “live like a local “ rather than feel like a tourist in a big resort , this place is perfect . You can cook at home ( big modern fridge with a freezer compartment) , shop at the local supermarket, yet enjoy the facilities of the compound ( quiet swimming pool with Sunbeds ,…) . I liked the proximity to Genena mall and all its shops , as well as a lot of great restaurants. The internet worked well ( whereas in most resorts it’s only working in public areas-reception ,…) . Mostafa, the flat’s owner, is very kind and helpful. He is a true gentleman and offered to show me some great areas of Sharm which i wouldn’t have explored otherwise ( SoHo Square , Farsha) , and had many great recommendations and tips about the city.

Verified reviewThe owner, Mustafa, is so kind and warmhearted! He offered to pick me up for checkin, and sent me to Farsha by midnight gently. This apartment is loaded with his old memory and we had a nice conversation over it. He made my day. Facilities are good in a spacious room.

There is no wifi. But this is not something 'bad' to speak about in this good place.

Verified reviewThe apartment is very clean and comfortable. The airco is working much good and is silent. The badroom is clean and the wasmachine is working perfect. The swimming pool is nice!
The beach is 10-15 minutes walking or you can take a taxi or a mini-bus. But otherwise everything is perfect !!

Verified reviewMostafa is the best host in Sharm. He goes above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need, gives you a list of recommended places to visit, and as bonus he even gave us a ride around town to take a look. The apartment is sweet and cozy.
Unfortunately the pool isn't great, it's pretty small and not very accommodating. The biggest downside on our end was that the apartment was just not close enough to the beach, but note that the buses in Sharm operate 24/7 and can take you almost anywhere. Just know that staying in middle Sharm is an urban experience and not some laid back beach vacation - regardless of the specific apartment you choose to stay in. All in all it was great value for the money.
