Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaIt was harder to get transportation (taxi) to the location. Because the roads are a little more rocky and the hotel is in a more remote location (away from the city), you will be forced to haggle to get a decent price to go. There is absolutely no way around it.
The included breakfast was a REAL treat. We also ordered the grilled chicken dinner that was also satisfying. The food was prepared by the host's mother, which makes us feel good about supporting a family business. The host was extremely hospitable without being intrusive. There's also a really cool common area where we met other travelers and talked for hours on end. The vibe there is really great, especially if you like being within a local village. It was calm, quiet and peaceful. We could not ask for better while being in Aswan.

United KingdomI liked everything
As a solo traveller I'm usually skeptical on where i choose to rest my head at night especially in countries im not familiar with. Choosing this accommodation was the best choice i could've possibly made as the staff and the manager was able to make me feel at home. I arrived late to this accommodation and the manager kept on checking up on me to make sure i arrived safe , the next day i had a tour booked for the early hours in the morning and because of this the manger made me a customisied breakfast so i wouldn't be left hungary throughout the morning . In regards to comfort and experience i would highly recommend spending a few nights as you'll have the feel of a vibrant african world. The accommodation layout is beautiful and i can't wait to bring 30 people with me next time I stay.

Everything! The place is cute, sparkling clean, colourful, and authentic. Every day, you will be greeted by a rich homemade breakfast, and Mohamed will help you in anything you need. If you're tired of being scammed and harassed and you are looking for a delightful experience in Aswan, skip the East Bank and come to this nice village, where the prices are real and the smiles are genuine!

A ll amenities were in perfect working order, and the beds were incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep. The traditional Nubian breakfast was absolutely delicious and a delightful start to our day. The host was attentive and responsive to all our needs, making us feel right at home. NetherlandsThe route to arrive to the location is a little bit bumpy. The room was small, luckly there were 3 beds and we used one for the luggages, otherwise there would have been no space for the luggages.
Wonderful atmosphere in a typic Nubian house. The owner was lovely and attentive. Good egyptian buffet breakfast, also suitable for vegetarian/vegan.

PhilippinesMohammed and the staff are absolutely the best! They’re easy to find and always ready to help with any questions or needs you may have. Breakfast, prepared carefully by Mohammed, is always delicious—though it’s more than enough for one person! The laundry service is fast, very clean, and super affordable. The room and bed are comfortable, and the overall design has a charming Nubian style. The shower and heater both work well, and the water pressure is amazing—which is something I really appreciate. The amenities are basic, but they do the job and actually exceed expectations considering the price. Yes, this place is a bit “far” from the center, but that’s exactly why I chose it. It’s located in a local Nubian village, and from the moment you step outside the hostel, you get to experience authentic local life. If you’re okay with traveling 20–30 minutes to the West Bank for your tours, and returning in the evening via a rougher road to enjoy a quieter, more peaceful atmosphere, then this is the place for you. I even walked along the Nile at night to the market and nearby restaurants—about 15 minutes—and I never once felt unsafe. The village kids are happy and playful, and the community is warm, helpful, and tightly knit. It’s clear that everyone looks out for one another, which makes you feel welcome and secure.

BrazilThe only downside, if it can be considered one, is the distance from downtown Aswan, which can make access a bit more challenging. Transportation costs and travel time to the central train station or the city center can be higher compared to other locations. However, the calm and peaceful atmosphere at night — unlike many places in Egypt — more than makes up for it.
Our stay at Malind KA was simply unforgettable! Located at the top of a Nubian community, on the opposite bank from downtown Aswan, the hotel offers an authentic and culturally rich experience. The view of the Nile is breathtaking, and access is available both by land and river. The staff is extremely friendly, hospitable, and always ready to help — without a doubt, the best hospitality we experienced on our entire trip! The breakfast is excellent, featuring traditional halal dishes, making every morning a special experience. The hotel’s architecture and vibrant colors are a highlight in themselves, reflecting the essence of Nubian culture in every detail. Moreover, the hotel follows the concept of community-based tourism: members of the local community prepare the meals, take care of the hotel, and offer additional services such as transportation and local handicrafts. The community’s souk, easily accessible from the hotel, is the best we found in all of Egypt — a true gem for those looking for authentic, handmade pieces. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and enriching experience!

Czech RepublicThe only downside is that the place is somewhat hard to reach - it’s on the other bank from Aswan and there are no paved roads within the village. The layout is a bit confusing and I got lost a couple of times in the village but somebody always helped me get to where I wanted. Also, the hotel is at the top of the hill (you do get a nice view for that), so you’d need to be comfortable walking uphill. That said, the owner organized a tuk tuk and a car for me when I was coming and leaving with baggage (also to the airport) and you can get a boat taxi easily to Aswan center also.
Very atmospheric place - authentic, vibrant and colorful. It’s a guesthouse more than a hotel. You really feel at home. The facilities are good for the price - clean, comfortable beds, good shower. You can get food, water, coffee, tea. There is a nice common area where you can hang out with decent internet (better than in the room). The owner is a good man with a very personable approach. I arrived late afternoon and was able to go on trips to Abu Simbel and Philae temple the very next day because of his connections. In general, I have very good impressions of the Nubian people (everyone in that village) - much more chill than the Egyptians you’ll meet on your trip. If you’ve been to any other place than Aswan you’ll know what I mean.

AustraliaThe property is absolutely beautiful to look at, the rooms are exceptionally clean and the beds were very comfortable. The host will go above and beyond to help you with anything you need, he booked us taxis and transfers for a good price and made the best lunch and breakfast. The location is great, it’s about a 600 metre walk to the main part of the Nubian village, which we loved, it was very quiet at night and very peaceful. Also the price was fantastic for what we received. We would recommend it to everyone 100%.
