The rooms were spotlessly clean with great facilities. I think it is family run and you can tell they go to great lengths to try and make the rooms as nice as possible. There are great views of 2 of the pyramids form the balcony and the roof terrace and from one of our rooms. really enjoyed our stay here

There were stairs leading up to the hotel and no lift but the hosts helped us with our bags and would have been happy to carry all of them I'm sure

The staff are unbelievably helpful. Nothing is too much trouble from borrowing an adapter plug to being physically walked to our dinner reservation so that we didn't get lost! The views of the pyramids are second to none. The water is hot and plentiful, the bed big and very comfortable. An excellent stay and excellent value for money!

I loved the place. Mohammad the owner is working hard to elevate this place and I have faith this will be the to go to place after a while. You get scared once you arrive Infront of the hotel bldg but as soon as you go to the second floor, it is a different world.

The owner was veryfriendly, helpful and welcoming. He gave us some safety tips as well. Wifi is excellent. The view of the pyramids is beautiful.

Shower head not working well. Towels can be upgraded a bit old and off white. I had a shock entering the building. It was dirty and very unattractive. Maybe do something about the appearance and face of the business. Improve on the breakfast. Exactly the same food everyday??? They expected me to pay extra 20usd per day for the room with the view of the pyramids, which I think is unfair. There were no other guests booked for that time so why not just give me that room? Plus there was no such option wnen I made the booking online.

Traveling to Egypt? Search no more: this is the very best place to be! Perfectly located besides the Grand Pyramids without bursting your wallet, you will be perfectly positioned to head on every Cairo tour. The room was spacious, had the most magnificent view, and the breakfast is amazing. But the most extraordinary in this stay is just Mohamed who makes you feel like home every single minute and helps you with any question you might have. Also a great place for hanging out at the terrace while doing some work. Definitely returning and bringing the rest of my family!

Absolutely nothing, the stay was spot-on.

The room and bathroom were clean with air conditioning. The breakfast was ample and the views from the rooftop were amazing. The staff running the very small hotel were fabulous and always available.

There is no elevator but the staff helped us to carry the bags up and down. That's it - everything else was great!

Before our stay, Mohamed was very good at communicating, our flight arrived in the early hours and he helped to organise a transfer.  When we arrived - even though it was about 3/4 am he greeted us with welcome drinks and was very helpful and understanding. He just checked us in and showed us the breathtaking views from our room, then the rooftop.  During our stay Mohamed and his team could not do enough to help. He offered to sort out tours and guides, helped to get us taxis gave us insider tips to help us visit the things we wanted. Just a genuinely lovely chap. The breakfast also gets a special mention. It is served on the stunning roof top, with direct views of the Pyramids. But it is also huge and delicious... Think bread basket, cheese plate and several yummy Egyptian dishes with coffee or tea.   The room was clean, bright and stylishly decorated with an incredible view.  The beds were comfy and the bathroom was also very nicely fitted out.  I can't recommend Maria's guesthouse highly enough if you are staying in Giza.

Our only issue was not with the guesthouse. It was a but tricky to use Uber because the drivers either cancelled or would not pick up without cash tip. BUT don't let that put you off, the white taxis can be hailed and once you've negotiated a price you are good to go. Also Mohammed and his team were super helpful with this.

We searched a long time for a place in Giza that had pyramids views and was both safe and clean and this is the place. It is not the cheapest option but being looked after (and the pool) make it well worth it. The owner and staff were lovely. The owner only asked once if we needed any tours and didn't press. He was really helpful with advice for transport options and the recent changes to the Giza pyramid gates. I felt comfortable asking him about anything. This is a small owner operated guest house, it only has 5 rooms I think. There is a small balcony seating area and a rooftop dining area with some cover. both are very nice, nicer than the pictures suggest. The rooms are relatively quiet with thick windows. The pool is in the hotel across the street and is really nice. The staff there were welcoming. They literally said they want us to feel at home and gave us hotel towels. There is also a change room and toilet next to the pool and a bartender making mocktails. The pool was included in the price, you just ask the front desk for a token and give it to reception at the other hotel. There is a little shop down the street which sells drinks, snacks, and ice creams. Most rooms can see the pyramids and from the upstairs dining area the view is amazing. It's walking distance from the Mena house Marriot and you can go there and get very nice massages. The owner gets in contact by whatsapp before you come and is there waiting to greet you with welcome drinks. The photos attached are the view from the roof and the balcony.

Mr Mohammad and family/staff were very welcoming and generous. We had a view of the pyramids from our room and at breakfast upstairs you could not be any closer!! Amazing Thankyou for all your help with day trips, advice etc

Nothing really except we did not realise the pool is in the hotel opposite and indoor, but not really a problem

The location and view are super, literally across the street from the Pyramids. Mohamed has converted the top two floors of his family's house into a neat hotel and has plans for the rest of the building. He is working hard, has good staff, a professional attitude and the knowledge of a guy who spent his whole life in the shadow of the Pyramids. The hotel is simple, comfortable, clean and tidy. The WiFi works, the breakfast was tasty (although way too big for me), the shower was good. I stay in hotels all the time of various standards and can happily recommend Maria Pyramids House to anyone. Mohamed had good tips for restaurants close by, organised my airport transfer and best of all didn't try to push me when I opted out of a guided tour. We had a couple of long chats about Egyptian affairs instead. Thanks mate, much appreciated.

It is really fine. The road is a bit noisy at night but what do you expect with that location.

Indeed the place is not really "next" to much, but overall we just caught Ubers to get around.

Best view of the pyramids from any hotel. Pictures online are accurate with their close proximity. Breakfast was served on the rooftop which was beautiful and safe to eat. We got room 302 which had an exceptional view as well. Staff was very kind and willing to help with other food recommendations, taxis, etc. They accept credit card or cash. Also has free hotel wifi. Location was great and three floors high which helps drown out the busy Giza traffic. In room self controlled air conditioning, full separate bathroom, mini fridge, hot pitcher for tea or coffee, clean bedding and towels, secure location, mine safe in roof, closet with hangers, and bottled water in the room. In summary I have no regrets staying at Maria’s and would stay there again. Great value and even better location to see the pyramids.

Hotel is located up 3 flights of stairs, so if unable to walk, this could be a problem. (Not wheelchair friendly). It does have a handrail and plenty of lights.

The hotel is actually the 3th floor of a regular apartment building which is reached by stairs only. From the terrace you have one of the best views of the Pyramids you can get. The owner and personnel are extremely friendly and helpful. We had the junior suite which is a very nice room. In retrospect we paid too much though, about 115 US$ per night. Later on we saw the price was much lower. To earn 5 stars there are some annoying or irritating things to eliminate if possible.

The most annoying thing is the noise from the traffic and the construction work for the metro. Since the junior suite was the room that is most effected by this, we had a very hard time to get a good night sleep even when using earplugs every night. The construction work for the metro will eventually be finished but the traffic noise will always be a problem. Another problem for us were the beds. The beds were too hard for our liking. This problem is solvable though. There were 2 other small irritating problems that could easily be fixed. The shower head is leaking at the side and should be replaced. We stayed 4 nights and there was no cleaning at all during our stay. With better maintenance inside and outside, this would be a great place to stay.

Fabulous homely little (boutique) hotel, with all the facilities you could want. Breakfast was plentiful, tasty and delicious; served up by a really wonderful, attentive lady. The host is absolutely amazing, couldn’t be more helpful, thoughtful & considerate. I felt extremely safe and cared for. He arranged outings and transport for me, and ensured I could not come to any harm. I felt like I was with family, and not traveling alone. I will most certainly stay again if/when in Cairo - so good. Perfect Accomodation. Right by the entrance of the pyramids, & a couple of hundred meters from the new museum. Such a great position for seeing the sights. My view was a pyramid, that I felt I could almost touch.

Construction work was a bit of a Pain - but that is happening in lots of places. The comfortable bed made it not a problem.

Mohamed, the owner was incredibly helpful & responsive from start to finish - being in communication before we arrived, helping us organize several excellent (& good value) tours and giving us great advice, kindness & service all the way through. The view from the terrace has to be one of the best in the world! And the breakfast was absolutely delicious.

There is currently no pool but there is one at a neighbouring hotel that can be used.

Great view of the pyramids at breakfast on the roof (and from the window of the room). Let down by the lack of hot water in the shower - we stayed twice (with a Nile Cruise in between) - on the first occasion the hot water did not work in our room, and on the second occasion, the hot water did not work in our son’s room.
