Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaAll good.
Set on the Nile river in the Nubian village. The nicest bungalows we saw, also helpful friendly staff. Set us up with a wonderful felucca crew for 3 nights. Also a good swimming spot in front.

New ZealandThe accommodation was basic but very clean and comfortable. Everything was in order.
This cosey family managed accommodation located in a beautiful corner of Nile river side with amazing view to surrounding landscape. It also located in Nubian village - with a rich and unique culture. Food was home made and healthy, it is made freshly, very authentic and delicious. they have vegetarian options. We really enjoyed cooked breakfasts and dinners which served beside Nile. Mohammad - the first contact person was very kind and keen to help. kayaking in Nile under his supervision was unforgettable. Transport was easy to manage, with fair price.

FranceNile view guesthouse and elephantine islands is an incredibly special place. The view from the guesthouse and terrace onto the Nile is beautiful, it’s peaceful, the food is delicious, the Nubian family who run it are incredibly friendly and hospitable. And to add to all of that, Mohamed will take you to the most amazing spots along the Nile for a swim, to watch the sunset/sunrise or to go birdwatching. The public ferry to get to the mainland is only a 5 min walk away and costs just 10EGP. There are no cars or roads on the island & the local people are so friendly. Highly recommended!

FranceI knew already beforehand, but consider that you are on an island, and moving around is complicated /limited. The hosts were very helpful in this point in particular.
The hosts (Mostafa's family) were at all times ready to help and serve, always with a great attitude and trying their best to make you happy. For the first time in Egypt we felt welcome.

AustraliaEverything was perfect.
We absolutely loved staying at this guest house. The owner and staff were all incredible to us, the food was delicious, the rooms were comfortable and the location was perfect. We did not want to leave and actually changed our flight to Cairo so we could stay one extra night. Thank you so much for having us and we will definitely be back if we come back to Egypt 🙏

I had an amazing stay. The location is very beautiful and serene. The perfect spot to enjoy the magic of Nile river and the desert. The room was very quiet so I could rest very well. The staff was so friendly and helpful. Mohamed speaks very good english that made my stay easy and comfortable. This is a bonus as is so rare to find people that speak good english in Egypt. This is a place to come back in the future. The breakfast was very generous and super tasty. They helped me to arrange a felucca trip that I really enjoyed. Thank u guys for everything. Give the good vibes on!

MaltaGet the kings room on top, you wont regret it. The view is stunning. The owner offers motorboat rides to the west bank or the botanical gardens as well as felucca rides. We loved our stay. Its quiet and away from the chaos of aswan. Elephantine island is a gem. The public ferry is close too.

SpainThe location is spectacular, the views are amazing, the staff is super attentive and helpful. It was such a peaceful spot in the midst of the city. It was a dream. Even the kids took us on their boat to swim in the Nile - free of charge, no pressure on tips. We booked a tour with them and the result was very satisfactory. The fact that you need to take a little boat to reach the hotel is quite charming. Overall, a 10/10, it was our best stay in our trip.

United KingdomLocation is superb, right on the Nile off of the Elephentine island with direct unobstructed views of Nile and Agha Kham mausoleum with the Aswan harbor off to the side. The Numbian village is less than 20 minutes boat ride away crossing a majestic patch of Nile rapids, rocks, vegetation. It is a Numbian family run guest house with local and native food freshly home cooked by ladies of the family and served by the Nile. Staff are super friendly, always available, smiling and warm hearted. Mostafa, Ahmad, Faris, Mohammad, Mahmoud to name a few are superb hosts.

United KingdomThe room is clean and as described with beautiful views over the Nile to the West Bank. The hotel picked us up from the railway station and took us by boat to the guest house. The breakfast is good and we had a chance to try Nubian coffee. It is a 10-15 minute walk through the winding sandy paths of the Nubian village to either public ferry so it is quiet. The WiFi worked really well and there was plenty of hot water. They gave us toilet paper immediately when we found the room had no paper. We left very early and the gave us a packed breakfast.

The guesthouse is managed by a Nubian family on their own land. The location could not be better! The Elephantine Island is perfect if you go to Asswan and the view from this specific place is breathtaking. Ahmed and his famille can arrange anything you want from a trip to Abu Simbel to a kayak tour on the Nil. Plus, the breakfast is really good and don't forget to try their Nubian tajine. I highy recommand anyone to go there and would definitely come back.
