Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaDidn’t expect the dirt pathways so taking a wheeled luggage bag is a bit difficult to navigate. Also steps down to the ferry which means steps up. Not a bad thing, but good to know, so you’re ready for it with baggage.
Taking a ferry across to stay on an island was relaxing. Cost of the ferry was 10 egp which was great and quick. Zolly is a great host. Organised the Abu Simbel trip for me without hassle. Also let me know what else I could do. Has a rooftop balcony to see across the river.

GermanyFirst of all, the owner is very friendly and helpful, and he gave us great advice for trips around the area. The place is really clean, and from the terrace and rooftop you can enjoy a fantastic view, especially since it’s located directly in front of the Nile and right next to the ferry. Overall, it was one of my best experiences.

AustraliaThis was my favourite place in my trip to Egypt. I love Aswan, and staying at Nubian Paradise on Elephantine Island was the quiet I needed from the chaos and hassle of Egypt. The view from the roof is amazing - great for watching the sunrise and the sunset. Zolly is an amazing man, one of the most interesting hosts I've ever encountered in my travels to 100 countries. We had many long interesting conversations and I learnt a lot about Nubain culture and Egypt from him. I want to keep in contact him, and hope to catch up with him again in any future visits to Aswan inshallah. He was able to organise my trips to Abu Simbel, Philae Temple and Aswan Dam, and also a private driver to visit 3 temples and drop off at Luxor. I believe Nubian Paradise will be hard to book in future as his accommodation and service is top notch. While you stay on Elephantine Island please make sure you explore the island, go to the Aswan Museum (it's not touristy), eat at the restaurants on the island and walk around and interact with the locals.

EgyptThe shared bathroom might be a bit rustic to some people's taste, and the shower water pressure is not great.
Strongly, strongly recommend staying on Elephantine Island. The cheap ferry takes you a world away — it's much more peaceful than in the city. Nubian Paradise is at a good location on the island, too. Very nice cheap grocery store behind it, restaurants nearby, and easy to get to from the ferry. Zolly is an amazing, gracious host. He made my stay much better and easier.

Zolly was and excellent host, his hospitality was warm and welcoming and he couldn’t be more accommodating. The guest house it’s self is a nice spot over over views over the Nile and Aswan. Facilities are all up to scratch and the rooms well equipped. The guesthouse offers excellent value for money and you can put a price on the hospitality Zolly offers .

United KingdomThis guesthouse is a truly authentic experience for Aswan. Located a few minutes ferry ride from the main town (only 10EGP per trip, runs 24/7), in a secluded, quiet and safe traditional Nubian village, you can escape the noise and business of Aswan. The owner is a very friendly Nubian man who speaks excellent English, has travelled a lot, and makes great recommendations and shares helpful advice. He organised my trip to Abu Simbel, and advised me on a Nile cruise to Luxor. Any questions or needs, you can text or call him and he will support you. The room I stayed in was nice, with a large double bed. The shared bathroom is basic, but you are in a Nubian village after all! There is a lovely balcony with a stunning view over the Nile. The overall vibe of this guesthouse is calm, welcoming and easy going. I would definitely stay here again!

GermanyThe nubian paradise is in direkt neighborhood to a mosque, so everyone will listen to the speakers of the muezin at certain times (starting at 5 am) very loud.
This guest house offers some nice and clean rooms as well a great terrace and a nice roof terrace also. The host Zolly is not only nice and helpful, he knows a lot about european cultur and people because he has been in Europe for a long tlme. All together its a great place on the beautiful island of elephantine.

FinlandAs some other reviews stated, there is a mosque quite next door. It did not bother us but you are sure to get a wake up call at 5.15 am. If a short wake up call in the morning does not disturb your sleep, keep on sleeping until the next call for prayer.
I always book my accommodations based on good reviews. This time I could have not chosen better. A nicest location close to the ferry to Elephantine Island, a very nice room with nothing less than I could have expected for a backpack trip. The room was very tidy and we had a room with a private bathroom. What I saw of the shared facilities, not bad at all either. The host was helpful with just everything you need, like an early rise ferry to mainland for an Abu Simbel excursion. Coffee and tea available self-service at any time. There is a terrace with a perfect view over the Nile and downtown Aswan.
