Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

JapanThe water pressure and temperature might feel a little different if you're used to showers in Japan, but it wasn’t a problem at all. I didn’t find anything that really needed improvement.
I had such a peaceful and relaxing time here. It was much quieter compared to the city across the river. - The room looked exactly like the photos. It was spacious and comfortable, and the air conditioner worked very well. The Wi-Fi was also speedy. - Breakfast was delicious. The staff were very flexible and helped arrange transportation by boat or car, even for early morning or late-night check-ins and check-outs. - They also suggested various tours, including trips to Abu Simbel and felucca rides. Even though I didn’t have a fixed travel plan, they gave me helpful advice on places to visit and local food to try. - The staff were kind and very knowledgeable about the island. They answered all my questions and helped me with anything I needed. Messaging was smooth, and I always received quick replies. I’m truly glad that I chose this guesthouse and this island. I was able to feel the warmth of the local people and enjoy the beautiful scenery and nature. Even though it was my first time visiting, it somehow felt nostalgic, as if I had been there before. Mahmoud, one of the staff members, knows everything about the island. He is warm, thoughtful, welcoming, and very kind. Thanks to his amazing hospitality, this trip became truly unforgettable. I’m so grateful. After spending two days here, I headed to Giza. But the experience at this guesthouse was so wonderful that I ended up canceling my plans in Giza and came back here again. That’s how much I loved it. I really hope to visit again someday.

Highly recommended stay for anyone visiting Aswan that's interested in the local culture and looking to venture away from the big resorts/hotels. The room itself was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The building has a beautiful rooftop space that we enjoyed some delicious meals on (prepared by the owner's mother). And we felt very safe exploring the island. But the highlight was definitely our host Mahmoud. He was so kind and gracious. From meeting us at the ferry stop to show us the way to the guesthouse, to sharing some of the history of the area and his people, to taking us to some of his favorite spots around the island - he went above and beyond to make us feel welcome during our stay.

United StatesTo us everything was perfect. One thing to note is that the island sometimes has low water pressure, but honestly it wasn’t an issue for us.
The friendliest staff, so helpful, kind, responsive and attentive! They have day tours that they can organize for you (recommended, we did one to Nubian Village) and transfer services between the island and the mainland, if the local ferry is not operating). Just ask the staff where you’d like to go and they’d be happy to help you. They have very fair prices, much better than Viator/Get your Guide. Clean and comfortable facilities, delicious breakfast and beautiful rooftop area to hang out in. Would stay here again on our visit to Aswan!

BrazilEverything was great, but if I look more detailed, the shower drain was not working properly in the room 203. But I assume they will fix it soon. Everything else was great 👍
Everything. Mahmoud was a great host and made all he could to arrange everything 🙏 This place provides laundry services, transfers, great tours and so on. Even hair cuts, henna tattoos if you need. Actually they try to provide everything you wish. Our room 203 (without balcony) was very comfortable. Also a big thanks to Bibo and also to Sido ✌️

United KingdomThe only disadvantage is that is not in the city centre, so it is a bit of a reach. But if you want an authentic stay, then I recommend this place. Especially as the stay is on Elephantine island which has a lot of history.
Lovely place, and the hosts are so friendly and welcoming! Absolutely cute and so quaint. So rustic and so authentic as well. To reach the property, you have to take a short boat ride which is 10 LE per person. The boat comes every 10 mins and the ride over to the island is very short as well. To reach the property after you’ve reached the island, it’s only 4 mins away (walking)

United StatesNubian Soul opened late 2024 so is very clean. Beds are firm, rooms have both ceiling fan and inverter airconditioner. Our room 202 has a small Balcony to hang hand washed clothes. The guests house is in the middle of Elephantine Island so 6 minutes walk from the public ferry. A private ferry can be arranged and is closer . Hot breakfast daily and free instant coffee and tea are offered to guests for free. Dinner can be ordered in advance. Mahmoud was the best manager! He helped us with our transportation and guide arrangements including booking our Nile cruise. He is very friendly, sincere and explained the Nubian culture and way of life.

FranceDon't hesitate and come stay in this guest house ! Situated on Elefantine island , it's a perfect spot to rest. It's quiet, clean , amazing breakfast and rooftop. The room is spacious and the staff is amazing too. Special thanks to Mahmoud who welcomed us and was so helpful to all our questions and good spots to see. You need to take the public ferry boat to go there and it's way better than staying in the city center of Aswan. They even prepared us a breakfast box at 3:30am before going to Abu simbel. The guest house was truly a highlight of our trip and we would love to be back soon.

An Unforgettable Stay – Highly Recommended! From the moment we arrived, everything about our stay was simply perfect. The room was spotlessly clean, with every detail carefully attended to, making us feel completely comfortable and relaxed. The location was ideal—close to everything we needed yet peaceful enough to enjoy a truly restful stay. Breakfast was a delightful experience every morning, with fresh and delicious options that gave us the perfect start to our day. We were also pleasantly surprised by the possibility of having dinner at the property, which turned out to be an excellent choice. The food was authentic, flavorful, and clearly made with care. A special mention must go to Mahmoud, who was always there to assist us with anything we needed. What truly set him apart was that he wasn’t just a businessman—he was a local who genuinely loves his hometown, and that passion was reflected in every interaction. Unlike many others, he never tried to push excursions or sell us anything. Instead, he adapted to what we wanted, offering sincere recommendations and making sure we had the best possible experience. If you’re looking for a place that combines comfort, cleanliness, great food, and heartfelt hospitality, look no further. We can’t wait to come back!

NetherlandsWe stayed at Nubian Soul for about a week altogether and loved it. Bibo was very helpful and friendly, and not at all pushy, which I really appreciated. The guesthouse is new and everything is in excellent condition. The room was perfectly clean, the wifi was very fast and the rooftop is a lovely place to sit (and work). There is also a kettle to make your own tea and coffee on the rooftop (for free) which I think is a very nice touch. They offer the option of dinner at a reasonable price and are very punctual (not a given in Egypt). Elephantine island is generally a lovely place to stay. I'll definitely be coming back here!

United Arab EmiratesThis guest house is located on Elephantine Island in the heart of the Village. The staff at Nubian Soul were very helpful and attentive to our needs and were always present to help us every step of the way. Bibo welcomed us graciously into his hotel, escorted us to our rooms and offered us a welcome drink on the terrance thereafter. He replied promptly to all inquiries on booking and/or watsapp. He even helped us arrange a private boat transfer off the island when the public ferry wasn't running. The Breakfast too was personal and quite homey Wifi was amazing and excellent speed. Clean bathroom and utilities.

United StatesThe location on the island. At first it felt a bit complicated to get to the home, but my host made sure I was escorted from the ferry at night and once I had made the walk once, it was a breeze.
My room was clean and immaculate. The rooftop provided a beautiful place to have a drink or meal and the amenities were what I had hoped for.

United StatesCheckout time was a little earlier than expected but the host was communicative
Lovely stay with included breakfast, on top of a beautiful roof with a view of other rooftops. Very peaceful and relaxing atmosphere; we actually spent a lot of time in the sofa area on the roof. Bibo was an excellent host for us, communicated often and arranged for things like breakfast time and dinner. The place is an excellent value, and the room was very new and clean, with a comfortable bed. Downstairs in the daytime is a cute shop with handmade goods.
